Excellent resource!
Great guide! Led us to the trailhead when GPS failed to do so. Complete, descriptive, and easy to follow.

Route finding could be a problem.
I ordered this book to prepare for our upcoming trip to AZ. To its credit, it does include quite a variety of trails in a state that contains many great places to go hiking. There is also quite a bit of interesting background information about the areas where the hikes are located, as well as descriptions of the plants, animals, and rock formations you are likely to see. It was frustrating, however, to find that the map which is included with each hike shows the route to the trailhead and not the route of the hike. It would be more helpful to have a written description of the route to the trailhead and a map of the hike. The written descriptions would also benefit from being more specific about whether to turn left or right at trail junctions. Usually, it will state that you follow the sign which says where the trail goes, but who is to say that the sign will still be there on the day of your hike or that it will still say the same thing?Anyway, it is still a useful book and I'm glad that I bought it, but it would be helpful to have maps of the hikes and more specific directions about which way to turn at trail junctions to increase the odds that you will stay on the correct route and not become a search and rescue statistic.

Good Guide With Varied Regions, Great Pictures and Detailed Descriptions.
We saw this in the airport on our way back to Canada from Sedona, and I decided we needed to have it or whenever we manage to get back there. We did one of the featured hikes (Bear Mountain) while we were there and it has a few of the others in the area that we were also eyeing up. I also am excited about all of the other areas it features, including the Grand Canyon, Superstition Mountains, and Flagstaff area. Good guide with great pictures and details.

Just what I needed for my hiking guests.

Great asset for a hiking family.
Nothing better than an Arizona hiking book organized by season. There are places that just should not be hiked in the summer. This book not only covers the seasons, different difficulties in hiking, but a lot of landscape in this big state.

Outdated hiking book
Just received this book. It is somewhat outdated. It mentions that the Westfork trail in Sedona was omitted because of the fire, I can tell you for sure it is there and open. Also, it does not provide detailed maps of the trails, it does give you the name of the map you can download or purchase. I tried looking for one of the other trails on All Trails and could not find it. I am not confident in the rest of the trail information so I will be returning this book. This trail guide should be updated with a new revision.

Expected no less from anything from Arizona Highways
Very nice and informative book. Well structured and written. Very nice pictures too of course, once again......Arizona Highways and nice pictures kind of go together. Have done a few of the hikes prior to getting the book but now have many more to do.
