Luigi BormioliLock-Eat Handy Jar 67.75 Ounce (2 Liters)

I absolutely love the lock-eat jars from Luigi Bormioli! I'm trying to reduce the amount of plastic in my life, especially around my food, so jars that have glass lids are perfect. The airtight seal on these jars keeps things so much fresher than containers with plastic Tupperware style lids--I've tried both to keep tea leaves in, and the tea degrades very quickly with the plastic lids (not airtight, and the smell permeates the plastic). So this jar is the perfect solution for keeping my tea (and other foods) fresh. Yes, the smell of the tea will permeate the rubber gasket, too--it can't be helped--but you can buy replacements (if not on Amazon, at least on the company website) if it ends up being something baking soda can't handle, which you can use inside the jar with the lid clamped firmly down to release the smell more in order to be absorbed.The jar is easy to wash, and I love that the lid comes off rather than being attached because it's much easier to use and clean. There are a few very small bubbles in the glass that I received, which is fine because that means it's real. :) I'm definitely going to build up a collection of these jars to store all of my food in. And did I mention their juice jars/bottles are perfect water bottles? I'm going to be getting those, too.

Great for sourdough! They are very sturdy. Their ample size allows me to feed my starter for many days without discarding any. This convenience enables me to bake with sourdough anytime. :)

This jar has been perfect for my sourdough starter. I use a coffee filter with rubber band when it sits on my counter and use the tight fitting lid when in refrigerator.

Ich lagere in diesen Gläsern meine verschiedenen Mehlsorten, die ich zum Brotbacken benötige. Die Gläser sind super dicht. Durch die große Öffnung kann man das Mehl sehr gut mit einem Löffel entnehmen. Habe mir nun schon ein zweites gekauft. Ich denke das spricht für sich.

Lock Eat三つ目の購入です。スモモから梅からレモンからなんでも漬けていますが、洗いやすいので再利用がとても楽です。なにより、家庭での煮沸消毒がこんなに楽な瓶もそうそうありません。パッキンさえ外せばあとは全部鍋で煮沸でき、口が大きいので、煮沸の時はもちろん、中に残った果肉などを出すにもお玉を入れるにも楽です。他の方のご指摘通りそのまま使うと液漏れしやすいですが、前に買ったものの取扱説明書の通り、煮沸する湯の中で中身を詰めて蓋をしたら、冷めたあとは中が減圧されて液漏れしませんでした。これからも使い続けます。
