Peace, Locomotion

This charming story, which told through letter that Lonnie writes to his sister, Lili. The sibling live in separate foster homes, and do get to see each other. This is my second novel written by Jacqueline Woodson, and her writing is beautiful, plus I have found myself completely immersed into the story.

Loved locomotion and peace,locomotion “part 2” . Jacqueline Woodson is an amazing writer and really helps you understand what is going on from the perspective of a child and how the child feels about a situation . She also does a good job of giving a child’s perspective in her other books such as Hush and Another Brooklyn ! Great author, Great books!

I am a fifth grade teacher, teaching in an area with very little cultural diversity. I found the book Locomotion in a recycling center and read it all on a cold snowy afternoon. I had been working on reading and writing poetry with my students, and had recently introduced them to Langston Hughes, so I thought they might enjoy Locomotion. I bought follow-along copies and read it to them. They LOVED it. One of them discovered that there was a "sequel", Peace, Locomotion. So I bought these from Amazon. They came very quickly and the students are loving it, too. It has been very thought and feeling promoting for them and has inspired many good discussions, as well as a greater willingness to try writing in different forms. It is a beautifully written and touching book and Amazon's price and service were the best I found!

Read this along with my granddaughter who was assigned this as summer reading.

Great sequel

It was a very good book sequel to locomotion Jacqueline Woods on did a great job expressing the feelings of everyone.

It was an awesome book. I got so addicted to it that I had to ask my teacher if I could bring my kindle to school. She said yes so I did.

I had to cry because it reminded me of my Mama but it was an excellent book. : ) I recommend it to a friend
