Updated review after sale. Buyer be sure you have the right back flow pipes as shown in the product description. Although this product fits over my pipes it’s not a good fit as shown in the images here because I have a pipe from the house prohibiting the bag from covering all the way down the pipe. I am updating my review to add how kind the seller was after the sale to try to make things right. Although the product doesn’t fit my back flow pipes because there is not a way to get it over the horizontal pipe it does appear to be a good product. I would just suggest the seller consider making one that can fit over this type of unit as many homes have this set up.

Living in Texas, we rarely get cold weather, but I purchased this item in the unlikely event that a freeze might come. It fits well on my sprinkler pipes, and I was confident that it would provide protection if I ever needed it. Well, last week a rare freeze came to Texas. I drained the pressure breaker as the installer recommended, and I kept the insulation cover over the entire exposed system. But then today when I turned on the water valve, water came gushing out of a crack that occurred during the freeze. So the insulation cover did not work, and now I need to pay the installer to repair my sprinkler system.

Insulating properities very thin. Insulation itself is about one eight of one inch thick and foil covered on both sides. I know this because I am modifing this cover, to cover a horizontal supply line and adding velcro as a closure method down the slit in the bag to the bottom of the cover. I believe that this cover is stated to be 1.5" thick. This is probably the full thickness of the cover bag. This insulating cover bag will not be used in cold weather as sprinkler system will be blown out. Another insulating bag that I have is about 3" thick on each side but is much shorter.

Admittedly even with my measurements, it's a little tight on my pipes, but that's on me.. I probably should have factored in the width of the pipes a bit more. But snug isn't the same as 'doesn't fit'.. it slid down over the pipes and I feel confident that they will be kept safe from any possibility of freezing should we get as many cold days this winter as we did last winter. The velcro closure at the bottom is solid and you can also lock the cover on if you feel it's necessary. It's thick and well insulated, and the off-white/tan shade is clean looking and not overly loud or stand out in color, which was what I wanted.

I measured, and measured again. I needed a 14x19, so that's what I ordered. When I got it, it looked like it was made well, thickness was okay, but looked a little small. Took it outside to put over the back flow apparatus, and low and behold it didn't fit. TOO SMALL. I measured the cover I just purchased and CLEARLY it is only 13 THIRTEEN inches wide. I could almost make it work except for one pipe protrusion. Dang! Why don't sellers measure, measure, measure? If 13 inches will work for you, it looks well made. But, of course, I never got a chance to test it. Boo hoo!

I'm happy with my purchase. There are several of these products available, but went with this one based mainly on size. I originally planned to get a 16x20 but after I measured my back flow valve and the pipes around it, I thought this 17x21 would work better. And I was right. It's a good, snug fit - just perfect for my setup. The material is good and thick and feels very durable. Would buy this again.

We moved to a new house and was advised to buy this pouch for winter freeze protection. I ordered the size 17x21 which fits perfectly. Make sure to measure before purchasing and give it a 2inch allowance. This is a good purchase and not too expensive. Hope this will last. We wrap it in plastic for added protection to the pouch.

My pipes are a little out of size for the norm and had to go one size larger, and man this thing is huge! But that's on me. The quality it great, nice and thick insulation I do wish that the Velcro closure on the bottom was stronger, but there are eyelets to tie it if needed. I would buy again, just smaller in my case.
