Wow! This booster is great! Well, I received it today. It's both beautiful and functional. I'm trying it out on a horn and setup I use for lead playing as well as a soprano bugle in G I use in a drum and bugle corps.I'm a professional trumpeter in NYC and am usually skeptical about things that may appear to be gimkicky, BUT:Both horns already slot quite well, from low to high - and they get a great sound, but adding this has given me even more of the following:- a bit more meaty core to my sound, even up extremely high in my range. My sound has opened up even more, without sounding dull and its easier to play. There is not too much Mass on the booster, so I still have rich overtones, coupled with a very robust sound!- slotting is even more secure. I can also play lip trills even easier than before with the same setup. This means less chips, bumps or unstable notes. Whew!- articulation is easier, more clear and the tone speaks easier. Articulation is of great importance when playing the trumpet!- dynamic range has been increased with more security knowing notes won't cut off at fortissimo levels and beyond. I can easily play from very quiet to very loud levels with more security and confidence.- overall improved, instantaneous playing ability! That's a huge plus for me!I'm not too big on a lot of equipment/mouthpiece/horn changes, but if it gives me instantaneous gains on a very difficult instrument, I'm all for it!I can honestly say I'm happy with this booster and it's a definite keeper. I'm going to recommend this high-quality product to my 🎺 playing friends! You should buy this if you're looking for a well-made booster that will give you instant gains! It's worth it and then some!

The first thing you notice when you open the package is that this is not a cheap add on device. The workmanship is solid and the fit is perfect. I play on a Schilke 12a4a and when installed it looks as if it were tailored made. It is an attractive device. Upon playing I immediately notice that my sound is more stable especially in the high register. I did not gain any additional notes as I play well in the high D and occasional E but never found the need to go higher so I do not work to achieve a higher range. The same can be said for the low register. I do not feel the tone as darker as some have said however I can understand why others have that impression because as you move from various ranges you get the feel that the notes are holding solid when you normally start to wobble at the end of your breath. This is a good device for those of us who either cannot afford or want to spend for heavier custom horns as I am sure that the more expensive horns are built with this weight effect. I like the look overall and pleased with the slight but noticeable change. It will not make you a better player, but it will enhance whst you can already do. This is a worthwhile purchase. I ordered the gold plated version because my mouthpiece is the same so the match was perfect. I plan to leave it on for all of my playing unlike others who say they remove for certain situations. My horn is a 30 year old Yamaha 6335 series. I would probably guess that if you own a newer Xeno horn you probably will not notice a difference because Yamaha increased the weight of their new horns probably for the same affect. This is not a miracle device, however, if you are a serious player that gigs and or practice regularly with an older horn, I believe you will be satisfied also.

I had to return the standard booster and get a custom size built for my horn/mouthpiece combo direct from KGU in Ukraine. For the same price KGU made me a custom one! It took a little longer as it was coming all the way from Ukraine but worth the short wait. The mouthpiece weight gives a nice balance to the horn, looks great and I think makes slotting notes easier. Make sure you measure the distance between where your mouthpiece shaft (without the booster) hits the receiver of the horn and where the booster hits the inner part of the mp rim. I think they are usually about 50cm and mine had to be custom made to 43mm. Most horns are probably OK but the receiver on my Austin Winds horn is not standard for some reason.

Let me start by setting some context. I'm a comeback player: I played Bb cornet for 15 years then took 20 years off. Now I've taken it up again, but switched to trumpet (a Back 180S37). On cornet, my mouthpiece was a DW 4B heavytop.After switching to trumpet, I tried a number of mouthpieces (everything from a Bach 3C to the Yamaha Shew Lead) before settling on a Bach 7C as the one that gave me the best *compromise* of range, endurance, and tone. But I still had a number of issues: my tone was sometimes unpredictable, slotting could be off at times, and my high register was too thin. I also missed the depth of tone I got from the heavytop.I tried two solutions: heavy valve caps and the KGU mouthpiece booster. The caps just made all the problems worse. The booster, however, has made my tone a lot meatier and my slotting a lot more centred, and the high register is much rounder. My endurance has also increased.Now, as a comeback player, I wondered how much of the improvement was down to the fact that I'm practising daily and getting better. However, my teacher tried it out and he noticed an immediate impact too. As he put it, the booster "puts a lot more meat on the bones."I like the booster so much, I've ended up getting a second one so I don't have to switch it across if I move between the 7C and the Yamaha mouthpieces :)

Creo que es caro para lo que realmente es, un pedazo de acero o aluminio muy pequeño! Estéticamente le va excelente a la boquilla, y en cuanto a funcionamiento no siento gran cambio, es poco! La calidad y el acabado es muy bueno, se siente de buena calidad

The mouth piece makes an immediate change in the tone of my trumpet. It’s easier to play high and low notes with nice sound. This is a worthy investment for anyone, especially intermediate and advanced trumpet players. Shipping was fast too :) Totally recommend!
