Minetta Modern Contemporary Wood 5 Cubby Bookcase in White

I purposely bought this because the upper shelf height in the pictured measurements showed this to be over 11 inches which I needed for something specific. The shelf height of both levels is only 10 inches! This is why I give this only 2 stars.I had low expectations of the assembly process given all the other reviews which are absolutely spot on with regard to the bad instructions. However, having put together many pieces of furniture over the years (with my vast allen wrench collection to prove it), I was unafraid of figuring it out and I did it without too much grumbling. Note that the instructions include a QR code to a Youtube video collection to help with assembly however the collection did NOT include this particular piece! Sigh! I also went to the company’s website to see if perhaps there were downloadable corrected instructions. There were indeed downloadable instructions but after the first 2 pages, English was not included! Sigh!One positive: this company gives extra parts (screws, dowels etc) something I always appreciate, even a second allen wrench! My collection has now grown! In the end, it is a cute piece of furniture and I’m not returning it but I am really ticked off about the shelf height.

Instructions make 0 sense and the parts are cheap. All I can say is good luck.

This is a cheap piece of furniture. It is small, and even though I measured in the room it seems smaller than I expected.The instructions are bad, but not impossible to figure out...The drawings refer to piece 01 as 02 and it is confusing right at step one. I skipped ahead and with process of elimination I was able to fire out where the correct screws were supposed to be.Four stars because you get what you pay for. Cheers.

It looks nice. Cheap materials but does the job. Lastly, bad instructions. Able to figure it out but still annoying to have unreliable instructions.

Please, please read this review before you buy. The instructions are absolutely incorrect, I even looked online at the .pdf in case I was mailed the wrong the instructions but they’re wrong online. Here’s what to fix: in Step 1, when attaching EF000094 to piece 01, only put in the two screws into the middle two holes, do not attach all 6 screws. The other 4 screws you didn’t attach to piece 01 will go into piece 04, when attaching two of the piece 05’s with two of the EF00094’s in step 5. In step 7, swap piece 08 with piece 03.It’s a cheap particle board and melamine piece of furniture but it’s decent looking, very small bookcase. I wouldn’t buy this again, you’d have much better value and instructions at somewhere like IKEA

Had read the reviews about the instructions. So, Laid out all the parts out and started assembly. Am familiar with Sauder units, so all was easy to do. Had it put together in no time. The only thing I did differently was I purchased a piece of thin plywood and cut to cover the entire back. Painted it white like the unit and nailed it on. Looks good to me and nothing can be pushed through. Very happy with the bookcase. Lela W.

I'm pretty good at spatial reasoning and following instructions. The labeling on the pieces is printed on the side of some of the pieces of MDF. The holes are different on top and bottom of the pieces with no indicator on the instructions on which side and no confirmation of the pieces themselves. Most companies use stickers. This felt much more difficult than needed. I had way more extra parts at the end than I should have and I'm disappointed by the whole process. Boo.
