A prelude to Magic Boomerang
If you like Zima Junction, check out his rare import Magic Boomerang (for some reason is in Amazon in the books section).Amazing retrospective that includes 25 songs in 2 CD's, 5 previously unreleased, with other bands or solo efforts (excluding The Chameleons) and a Quicktime video. Digitally remastered, double digipack with a 20 page booklet, includes rare photos. These songs were performed in between his time at The Chameleons(1981-2002). Quoting the product description by another fan: "Mark spent weeks re-mastering and re-editing the album and for him it is very much a labour of love." He continues to quote the artist saying "I particularly enjoyed choosing the sound bytes that link the songs together and I'm really grateful at how fresh the material feels to me, considering how long ago many of the songs were recorded. Even the Cliches track, recorded in a single day at the end of the seventies in the immediate wake of Punk, seems to capture the true spirit of the time and far from finding the tracks embarrassing, I actually found them very charming and fun. By the end of the project I admit feeling a degree of pride at the quality of the work I'd been involved with and found a fresh appreciation for the many talented guitarists and writers Ive had the privilege to collaborate with through the years." A must for Mark & The Chameleons fans.

A Collection Of Demos That Puts Most Albums To Shame
Though it is technically a collection of demos for a record that was never fully completed, Zima Junction really sounds like a finished product of astonishing quality. There is so much joy, mystery, and subtle humor in these songs, that when you hear them for the first time you'll regret not yet being able to sing along. Mark's finest work was undoubtedly recorded with the Chameleons back in the eighties. But though every member of that band made an essential contribution to the magic, Zima Junction proves that Mark was clearly the songwriting genius of the group.I think if I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd give all the money to this man so that he could record ten more albums as beautiful and brilliant as this one.
