Cosmetic Issues
The cable arrived whole and is fully functional as can be expected. I've been using it a while now and have not had any major issues with it, functionally speaking. Although, disappointingly the cable had some flaws in its construction which are in turn affecting the cosmetics of the cable. Firstly, where the cable connects to the 4,4mm plug, the little kink-protection spring is slightly bent to the side. Looks to be about 10-15 degrees. Secondly, along the middle of the cable there are flaws in the braiding of the cable, appearing as a couple of bends and kinks along the cable whenever it is for example hanging freely or laying on the ground. Lastly the "cable splitter" always hangs with its weight almost entirely on the left side due to that cable being slightly shorter going up to the headphone plug than the right side cable. Making the whole thing hang to one side. So why only two stars? Well, this cable is "cheap-ish" compared to other balanced cables or headphone cables in general. So maybe this was to be expected? I don't know. But, I do strongly feel that, regardless of price, expecting to have a cable of this type being constructed (and arriving) in a straight, symmetrical, "good-looking" way is not too much to ask at all. I think one would 100% expect that. Functionality is of course one aspect of why someone buys new cables, but I would argue looks is equally important.
