IT FREAKING WORKS AND WORKS GREAT!
I have an older gaming PC, i7-3930k ASUS MOBO p79-le and on my case, the front audio ports and usb ports were really getting just worn out. It's an 11 year old case, it's too be expected at this point as it has received almost daily use this entire time. I purchased this, popped out my now redundant optical drive (that's a cd/dvd-rom drive folks) and slid this in right where the drive was. I was only able to match up one side of mounts with my case but it still is held in place fairly well and hasn't given me any issues since purchase and I've had it quite a few months now. I absolutely love having additional 3.0 usb on the front and since I switch audio devices frequently having my from audio in and out back online and working has been a life saver. It's not easy as it used to be to bend down to the floor and get to the ports on the back of my case and this thing has truly been a blessing.

Poor quality, poor performance, no documentation
What a disappointment. Really hard to say much good about this panel.First of all, I cut my fingers on the razor sharp edges on the edges of the sheet metal tray that partially enclosed the unit.Next, I found that the cables, though very adequate length, had poor quality plugs, and faught their way into the appropriate motherboard headers. Problem there seemed to be slightly oversized plugs, and misaligned contact sockets within the plugs. Had big concerns that engaging the USB 3.0 cable might damage the pins in the MB header. But that apparently didn't work afterall, because I discovered that the front pannel USB 3.0 outlets could not power a My Passport backup drive that needed 0.5 amps from the port. I replaced this panel with a similar one from another vendor, and it worked just fine in this regard.Lastly there is a mysterious combined SATA power and data source header on the panel's chassis, and a provided short SATA extension cable. But odly, the panal has not supposed to provide any real SATA functionality. If the circuitboard was designed for dual purpose to accomodate other models with SATA functionality, the SATA power header is backwards, since it provides a power plug when it should be a power socket.Bottom line: Don't waste your time or money on this hardware brand. Too many quality and technical misques in this item to believe that their other products might be any better.

Only USB 3 can connect to motherboard
This device has very poor instructions, however it does function well.USB 3 only attaches to the sub mini connector on modern motherboards. The USB 2 is a standard connector that connect via 8 pin polarized connector on your existing or motherboards. This device does not create any USB's but only extends the ones you may have extra on your motherboard.

Love it.
Great price. Easy to install. Works great. I wanted some front panel connections.
