Handy little tool
This is a handy small little blade sharpener and I love the FDE color too! Seems to get my EDC knifes sharp after I use them a bunch. Canโt beat the size, functionality and price!

Smiths Pocket Sharpener
I really wish they had stayed with the ceramic flats instead of the round ceramic rods. But the new style seems easier to hold on to.

Works Good
I little small but works great, even on the serration blade.

Pretty nifty
This is a pretty nice upgrade for Smiths pocket sharpeners. The G10 scales are lighter and tougher, not as cheap feeling and easier to grip.

Excellent pocket knife sharpening system
I have had a bunch of these over the years and can say that they are definitely worth the price and will give you a razor sharp edge that can shave off arm hair. I keep one in a go bag in the car and a go bag at home. I also have one in my camping gear. I have always had great results with these producing a razor sharp and durable edge. Generally I will hone a blade right before I use it if I have a sharpening tool handy if not I will deal with it after I am done. I will definitely buy more of these till they are no longer available. I am Generally pretty picky about my sharpening stones and tools. I typically prefer the ceramic and carbide sharpening tools these days but at times I will go old school and break out my traditional sharpening kit with oil Arkansas Stones and diamond sharpening systems on brand new knives and tools to ensure that I have a proper edge. By using the jigs and the ramps in my kit. But once I tried these Ceramic and carbide tools they are the bomb. They will give you a quality base edge and will do it quickly if in a hurry. I will definitely purchase more of these when I need more and because of the low price I Generally buy several at once. As for the negatives they are small and can be carried in a shirt pocket without any issues. But with that said they are not great for larger blades over 5 inches because of the size but they will work but they have better options for the larger blades. Otherwise the biggest issue that I have had is that they can quickly grow legs and run off on you. Lol But seriously they do tend to get swiped by others once they see that it works. I sent a few of these to a good friend who was stationed in Afghanistan so I sent him a half dozen of these when he first deployed. The first day he had them two of them wandered off. He keeps one on his battle belt, one in his pack, one in his foot locker and the last one he has in his gear locker on a chain so it doesn't wander off and let's his buddies in his unit use it whenever they need it. I will say that they are well made and that I have never actually broken one in the ten or so years that I have used them. Neither has my friend who has had 5 combat deployments to Afghanistan and he has not broken any. But he did have one broken by a stray round that hit his pack strapped to the side of his Humvee while on patrol one deployment. But it was just the plastic part that broke. He was able to get the ceramic rods and the carbide cutters mounted in a piece of wood that he then used as the community sharpening system for the guys in his squad. Putting a new one in his pack. In short you will definitely get your money's worth from these sharpening systems and they are going to last for a long time. I get around 18 months of use with mine and have not broken any yet. They can definitely give you a razors edge on pocket knives and tactical knifes on the smaller side but I have managed to get a great edge on a surplus Vietnam era m16 bayonet and that was a pleasant surprise since they can be a bit tricky to do since they typically need a traditional old school stone set to get them razor sharp and then a ceramic sharpener for the final step. If your looking at this as a primary sharpening system their are better options available that can sharpen more things that are bigger then a pocket knife. But these do work great for a boning or pearing knife as well in the kitchen. But I personally think that it is one of the best pocket sized sharpening systems out there that can be thrown in a pocket for the price. I hope that it helps people make a decision on what sharpening tools to get. ALSO I will definitely say that if it's a thicker small blade suchvas a small camp axe or hatchet will be tricky to get this to work with because it is difficult to get the proper angle for a good durable edge. But a typical pocket knife will work great. But anything that has a thicker blade then a Kabar will be ify as to if it will work.
