The Modern New Testament from Aramaic

This new testament is translated from the Aramaic which was the language of Jesus in his day. There are some differences in the various translations used today. I have found this translation to be the best out of the various ones in all the versions of the New Testament. The wording of the LORD'S prayer at the beginning of the book makes a lot more sense than the version used in this day and age. The bible study I am enjoying and learning from using this version is very different than previous.

The paperback version is NOT the Deluxe Study Guide version that the Hardcover is (the hardcover version is the preview you see; which is clearly stated) There is no Aramaic/English concordance. But there are the notes at the bottom that tell which verses are different than the traditional Greek-based translations. Just make sure which one you want before buying. Having said that, the paperback version is of excellent quality, and big enough font for easy reading, and i'm extremely satisfied with my purchase!

For some reason this is the easiest New Testament to read that I have ever owned!And it’s more clear to the original meaning then most of that I’ve read I would recommend you buy two and send one to a fellow Bible reader, Because it’s so easy to read and you can’t put it down amazing.!!

Some differences but I read alot of versions. It's another translation to help get the most sense out of certain scripture studies. It's not my favorite translation but is very helpful.

I have many Bible translations and I decided to order this one also to add to my collection. I wanted to get an Aramaic perspective on the bible.

While the Greek and Roman churches flourished, a herdsmen people living in Muslim Kurdishia had their Aramaic manuscripts, unadulterated by well-meaning Christians to the West. Discovered around WW I by the British, a lad with a photographic memory was "adopted" by missionaries, taught English and well educated. Dr. Lamsa's translation builds faith in God's protection of His Word as this Bible is remarkably similar to other English Bibles. This N.T. is all you need study as the O.T. was preserved by the Jews and not molested by well meaning Christians.

So far I found the text quite helpful and easy to understand. Once I read certain chapters and verses; I'm able to do my research with great understanding.My only wish is that; Jesus words could have been in red. Nevertheless, I can just highlight it. I take it to work and no one notices that I'm reading a bible.

For the most part it appears to be a typical English new testament translation. It seems to be confused in some places eg. 2 Cor.5:3. It adds nothing of great import. It certainly doesn't give me the impression that I'm reading what the apostles recorded in Aramaic. Luke probably wrote straight into Greek. Paul would have done the same when addressing mainly Greek speaking people. It only emphasises how reliable our English translations from the Greek are.I don't think that there is much to be gained from it.

I enjoy this New Testament, as I do will all the one's I have. It is nice to see something different with this one that speaks to my heart about Christ.
