The Business of Antiques: How to Succeed in the Antiques World Paperback – December 14, 2012

I received the book today and it lays out what the Antique business is in an easy to read format. I'm already half way through the book.

My decision to give this book a five star rating was based on the valuable information included. The author does a fabulous job in attempting to touch on any and every facet of the antiques business. I use the word "attempt" because there is no way he could foresee what issues each individual (whether they be the vendor, owner, inheritor...etc) but he does his best to try. And I quote, "I can tell you where the road hazards are but you have to drive yourself." I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to know more about the antiques business. Knowledge is power after all.

Well written and very readable. I particularly liked that it is "post recession" and takes today's realities into consideration. I would recommend it.

I’m am looking to start an antique business. While I had several very good “take aways” from this book, this book is written for the brick and mortar store. I still learned several key bits of information that will apply to my online store. Thank you for such an informative resource!

Wayne is quite knowledgeble and insightful about market trends. He has been in the business long enough to see the ebb and flow of the trade but also has some good points about moving into the modern antiques business successfully.

I've been doing a lot of research on this subject. Jordan offers the most up to date information I've seen anywhere. If this book doesn't make a difference, I don't know what will!

It's what we were looking for however it could be updated with latest info but overall good info.
