Superboy: The Complete Third Season
R**N
If you've ever seen the series The Adventures Of Superman
THIS AIN'T IT!! This forth and final season is more of the same from the other seasons. I'm not a huge fan of this, most because of the character Lex Luthor! The acting in this is less than stellar, and one of the worst travesties in this day in age, NO CLOSED CAPTIONS!! Anyway, unless you're a superhero freak and have to have every superhero type shoe(me, me), then I'd steer clear of this series! RP

This show is excellent. A hidden gem!
It's kind of odd that as of 2017, the idea of a Superman (sorry, Superboy) story that DOESN'T depict the character as a conflicted, emo and angry god feels like something of a novelty. This almost feels like a "fresh" take on the character. A superhero who actually ENJOYS being a hero! And it would be really easy to write this show off as Simple, or Nostalgic or Uncomplicated, but somehow they still manage to keep deeper themes like Clark's sense of loneliness and isolation, thanks to his overwhelming destiny, present throughout. But unlike later depictions of the character, THIS Clark doesn't wallow in those negative emotions, he works to overcome them. THAT is Superman (sorry, Superboy). At times the acting and special effects can be a little weak. But you can say the same of any CW superhero show on right now, depending on the episode. This show is a hidden gem, and I can't (now) believe how often it gets overlooked in discussions about wider Superman media. I'm going to recommend this to every superhero fan I know.

Roads Not Taken rules
I bought the two-part episode "Roads Not Taken" from the third season of Superboy. Although the special FX are a little dated today (the show was over 20 years ago), the storytelling is great.***Warning: Spoilers!***Superboy goes through an interdimensional portal to bring his nemesis (take a wild guess who) back to his own reality. On his journey, he encounters two alternate realities: One where Lex Luthor was killed by Superboy, who is now in hiding and doesn't wear the suit anymore out of guilt; and another where Superboy is the Sovereign, one who rules the planet with an iron fist. On his search for the evil LL, 'our' Superboy helps the alternate Lanas and Luthors with their respective problems. This is good, clean storytelling without a whole lot of gore (who would've thought?), and is refreshing especially given today's storytelling. Great for anyone who likes the big 'S', or just likes straightforward tales of "What If?"

Vast Series Improvements in Season 3
Package arrived on-time as promised, and was also in great shape. The third season of this series showed the show "growing up." A lot more adult themes and less campy fare than the first 2 seasons. Wasn't sure I liked the new actor portraying Superboy from the second season, he seemed to overplay the Clark Kent nerdiness aspect a little too much (which, at least to me, seemed to carry over a little bit in his portrayal of Superboy). However, in season 3, he seemed to start balancing the dual roles very nicely. Clark Kent as an intrepid investigator, still with a bit of the nerdy factor, but a much stronger character in his own right, and Superboy as, well, "the boy of steel," in both resolve and physicality. The special effects also improved quite a bit in season 3, almost rivaling that of the "Lois and Clark" series.

Despite the bare bones edition, awesome little show!
As a fan of the all the Superman or Superman related material I'm quite fond of this cheesy tv show. I bought the 1st season quickly hoping to buy seasons 2, 3 and 4 shortly after. Many years later, here they are.The 5 stars are for the fans who take their time and effort demanding WB this release. The dvds aren't remastered at all. The picture quality is pretty poor, same as it was when it was aired many years ago. Thanks to WB for listening the fans, even sooo late. But no thanks at all for bringing a set of dvds totally bare bones. No subtitle options, no extras. Just a still main menu with the number of the episodes and that's it. At least the cover artwork matches 1st season.Recommendable to buy if you're a Superboy fan anyway

Better than the two first seasons !
How can I be serious to spoke about this campy show. Well, in fact I can with this third season !After the success at the box office of "Batman" in 1989, Ilya Salkind change the format of the series : storyline more adult and very good writers coming from DC Comics to be faithful to the spirit of the comic books and directors with talent (David Nutter began on the show !!!!).If you like super heroes, you won't miss this incredible season. Specially the episode with Ron Ely who plays an older Superman in the two part episode "The Road to hell" !!!Picture : 4/5.Sound : 3/5.Extras : Nothing at all, too bad but 0/5.

I finally got another season of Superboy!
all the episodes on 3 discs. there were careful with some of the discs because disc one was scratched. it kept like pausing on certain scenes and starts skipping over like I I gave it a good clean if it seems to stop. It's sad it doesn't have special features but overall, the episodes are in good condition for viewing.
