Very comfortable and sturdy.

I was looking for inexpensive hockey skates that had good ankle support to use for recreational pond skating. I decided to give these a try since they appeared to be the closet to what I was looking for (I liked the idea of the velcro strap for support). They arrived quickly and fit perfect (I wear an 11 and ordered an 11). I also ordered my wife a pair (in the pink style) as a xmas present and she said the size was true to her shoe size. We got them sharpened by a local guy and our first time out on the ice was just as we hoped! Good ankle support, comfortable, warm, easy to put on/take off. My wife and I were both pleased with the purchase. We had no issues so far with the velcro strap or the laces breaking; but due to other reviews we will make a conscious effort not to over tighten them just in case. Overall I would buy this product again and feel for the price range the quality, design and style exceeded our expectations.

So comfortable! When I read the reviews that said these were too wide, I knew I had to buy them. As a guy with a size 13E flat foot, finding comfortable things to put on my feet is a little tricky. These were the ticket. I will need to toss in an arch support insert, but other than that, they are great.The blades come very sharp, with a very pronounced hollow grind. In fact, they were too sharp. However, after a few hours on the ice, they wore down to a normal sharpness. They cut in well, support my ankle well, and all in all are pretty damn good. Especially worth what I paid.I don't think these would be good for anyone who did more than skate around a rink, but for my needs, they are wonderful.

The reviews seemed good, and I really didn't want to spend a lot of money to use skates 4-5 times a year. Rentals are $5 each outing and I needed a pair when we could go outdoors.These fit my wide feet and I ordered 1/2 larger for thick socks. No hot friction spots inside and they have a lot of side support.The top strap can tighten firmly with the velcro. Skating was a pleasure and the skates weren't an impediment--I was. These skates outperform my current abilities.Very happy with the purchase. Highly recommended.

My son was delighted when he got these as a Christmas gift, but one time out in the ice and the plastic under the heel broke clean through!??? Is it the cold temps that the plastic doesn’t hold up to? Bad quality manufacture? I thot cougar was a good brand, not top of the line but at least decent...hoping to find repair part and will look for other brands next time...

This is the best ice skates i've every used in my life (both rental and the ones that I had).1, It looks so cool, much better in real life than on pictures.2, It's extremely comfortable, the cushion inside makes it really enjoyable to put on.3, The laces are so easy to tie. You know sometimes it's really hard to get the string tight enough to support your ankle, this makes that 20 times easierI could sum up the review in 2 words: WORTH IT.

Complete trash. Sloppy loose fit in the width of the boots, and I have wide feet. I ordered size 13, and my toes touch the inside of the boots (not accurate to shoe size). Blades not under center of foot (too close to inside of foot). Eyelets have sharp edges that shredded and broke the laces on first attempt to use the skates. Material holding velcro strap clasp completely ripped off while attempting to check the fit at home after failed first attempt to use the skates. I cancelled my order for replacement laces and have abandoned the idea of using these skates before getting to skate in them once. I rarely write reviews, but my experience with these skates was so bad that I feel compelled to warn others.
