I love that the mouth of this jar is so wide that I can easily pour ingredients (like rolled oats and blueberries, for making overnight oats) directly from measuring cups into the jar without spilling or needing a funnel. I hunted high and low for an all-glass jar that would allow this, and this is the only one I could find that has a wide-enough mouth. (Similar-sized Mason jars have mouths that are too small.)I also like that the gasket is made of natural rubber, NOT silicone (which is actually a form of plastic). If you're looking for a truly plastic-free product, this is it! From an ecological perspective, I really appreciate this. And I can attest to the rubber gasket's ability to prevent spills, as this jar (filled with my breakfast) overturned inside a tote bag I was carrying, and not one drop leaked out.I love well-made and well-designed things, and this jar (made in Italy) meets both criteria. It's a pleasure to look at and use every day. Another nice thing: This jar is available in different heights, but all the lids are the same width, and thus the lids are all interchangeable.One not-so-nice thing, which is not the manufacturer's fault: Amazon does not properly package this item when shipping it, and thus don't be surprised if the jar and/or the lid arrive broken. Mine arrive with a broken lid, so I had to request a replacement, which was very easy to do online. A whole new jar was sent to me at no change (I did not need to ship back anything), but it seemed wasteful when this could have been avoided by simply padding the product properly for shipping. The second shipment was also insufficiently padded, but thankfully the lid arrived intact; however, the jar did not!I use these jars to make a hearty portion of overnight oats (1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1 cup blueberries, covered with soy milk). The 25.25-ounce size proved to be the perfect size for this purpose, as it still left enough space to stir the ingredients together in the morning without spilling over the lip of the jar. The larger 34-ounce size would work too, and would also be good for storing dinner leftovers or as a canister for dry goods (like loose tea leaves).If you remove the gasket and wire latch from the lid (which are very easy to detach and re-attach), this jar and lid can safely be put/used in the dishwasher, microwave, a warm (not very hot) oven, and freezer. Because of its very wide mouth, the jar is also very easy to hand wash. It's an incredibly convenient and versatile item. Yes, it's expensive, but I think it's perfect in every way and worth it. This works WONDERFULLY for my sourdough bread starter. I love it’s straight sides (better than a Mason jar) when stirring for feedings. No nooks and crannies to reach for! The wide mouth provides ample to add ingredients and plenty of room to reach in and stir.

Using it for our sourdough starter as my husband has wide hands and it's perfect and much easier to clean than a Mason Jar. That being said look at the measurements before you buy because it's a good size.

I own several sizes of the Lock-eat storage jars. These are wonderful. I use this XL size for dried beans and grains so far. Used it also for fresh pico de gallo. Keeps everything fresh and dry. Easy to open and close. I highly recommend this line of storage jars.

I lizke this brand. I just think Amazon sells the product for too much.

really nice jar for when I want to make a larger sourdough starter. for the smaller starters I use my weck jars but these are quite a bit less expensive than the wecks. if I had known about these first I probably would not have bought the wecks.

The size is gray and the wide mouth makes it easy to work with

I bought this to store my sour dough starter. It works perfectly and has nice straight sides. I really like the way the hinge mechanism is attached to the lid and not the jar. Awesome, study design!

Für mich haben die Gläser und der Verschluss eine gute Qualität. Preis/Leistung ist okay.
