So far so good. I only needed one tarragon plant for my hydro garden but I had great luck with germination. I now have a nice healthy tarragon plant thriving in my garden.

I bought Mexican Tarragon at Lowes as a substitute because they didn't have the French Tarragon I was looking for that day. It's not the same as the French variety and it has a much stronger, almost too intense flavor in cooking. It's a hardy plant that does well in full sun. French Tarragon has a much more delicate flavor, so if you are using the Mexican variety use about 1/4 the amount you would use if you were using the French variety. If you are making Tarragon vinegar be sure to blanch the Mexican version for 10 seconds in hot water before you infuse the vinegar to make it less harsh and to sanitize it.
