Nice OEM+ upgrade
The media could not be loaded. I love the way this sounds on my '05 Tahoe. Not too loud but has Meaty Rumble. I cant quantify it with anything but a feeling, but my Tahoe seems to have more get up and go. The hardest part was getting the old unit out.

2004 Chevrolet Tahoe
Sound is mild as described, slightly louder than stock at low RPMs. Installation of the pipe over the axel was a bit tough as the hangers did not line up 100%. Had to stretch and really pull the hangers to get it installed.

Buy it
Great system! I installed it on my 2004 GMC Yukon to replace the rotting stock exhaust. Pros: great exhaust note, not too loud and no droning even at highway speeds, improved fuel economy, less weight. Con: I thought it was a one piece system then found out when I opened the box that it's three pieces and assembles with clamps which are always the first to rust and rot out. I opted to have a local muffler shop weld it all together for me which ran about $75. If you are a DIY make sure you have a reciprocating saw, metal blade and WD-40 to cut off the stock exhaust. Also make a run to your local parts store and get copper anti-seize lubricant and spare studs for the flange coming off the catalytic converter.(I snapped both when removing stock system). Double check that all exhaust hangers are hanging vertical before tightening everything down.

Great and easy upgrade over stock.
Installed this on my 05 Tahoe 5.3L in a about 2 hours. It would have been faster but beverages were involved. It sounds great on startup, much deeper than the stock system. I have not been able to confirm or deny HP or Gas Mileage stats but I can tell that it does not take as much pedal to get off the line or up to Highway speed. There is zero drone in the cabin at both city street and Highway speeds. It is still early but I would highly recommend this for someone who wants any easy gain in performance and much better sound without getting a "loud" exhaust.

Fit great and sounds good on my 2005 Tahoe
Fit great and sounds good on my 2005 Tahoe. The only issue I have is that the parts of the chrome tip turned slightly gold in color and started to rust within the first week. I would have given it 5 stars if Flowmaster used a better quality stainless / chrome tip

Cost effective Exhaust upgrade - Love the sound!
Wanted to open up the exhaust a little on my 2000 GMC Yukon 5.3L and decided on this kit. The sound is mildly aggressive, actually could be a little louder but it's all personal preference. There is no cabin resonance, well engineered and effective product. It's definitely audible from a distance and adds a large amount of "authority" to my Yukon. The kit is bolt on and ready to go! Don't think twice, buy it, you won't be dissappointed.

Exhaust sounds very nice. Not too loud but just the right amount of bark when you get on it. No drone at highway speeds. Now with that being said, there are three negatives you should know. The clamp on the tip is awful. Just weld it on and be done with it. The spot welds pulled off trying to tighten it up. And i was using 1/4 inch ratchets to do it. The hanger behind the muffler is about 4 inches too short. I had to cut off hanger from the spare pipe they sent, weld it on as an extension so it would fit into the rubber hanger. Lastly, and most importantly. The tailpipe does not exit in the stock location. It exits about 8 inches back from stock and at a completely different angle. On standard tahoes this would be fine. But on z71 models which come with plastic cutout, the fitment is way off. Not really noticeable unless right down at eye level would need about 6 inches cut out of the straight section in order to make exit correctly. With the welding of the tip, the hanger, and pipe needing shortened, one might be better off just having a muffler shop weld in a muffler and save yourself a couple hundred bucks. If you have access to a welder, not a big deal. But if not, probably looking at at least a hundred dollars to make it correct.
