Best USB hub for the new 16 inch MacBook Pro (AND A MUST-READ NOTICE)
I was looking for the best hub that I could find to use with my new 2019 16" MacBook Pro.My initial requirements:- Most of the time I would use it as a USB 3.0 adapter so it was cool that it has 3 ports and not 2 as most competitors,- Sometimes I need an HDMI (to connect to a TV and play a movie when visiting friends or family),- Sometimes I need a microSD (to transfer content from my second phone, or the dashcam in my car). Why I chose HooToo:- This thing ultimately met all my requirements and had a very nice price,- It also supports 100W charging (unlike everybody else at the moment of purchase) — I don't know why I would ever need that, but still nice to know it is compatible with my 90W power adapter. :)My impressions:- Overall I am very happy with my purchase,- It works as it should, and did not heat so far (I was using 1 USB device with it),- USB speed is good,- High assembly & materials quality. Here's the must-read.DO NOT PLUG OR UNPLUG YOUR POWER CORD into this hub WHILE YOUR EXTERNAL DRIVE IS CONNECTED TO IT (you can see how this looks on my image number 4, with white cord). Power cord detachment results in unsafe drive disconnection and you can damage your drive and/or files. This was my case. It's not a blocker, or an issue, just don't use power input with external drive at same time — and you'll be good.

Works perfectly as described, A Mini Powerful Type C, PD, HDMI Hub
Works great with my Dell and HP Spectre 2 in 1 laptops and meets my needs perfectly. Due to lack of multiple ports, I needed a hub that would allow me to connect USB peripherals like wireless transmitter of keyboard and mouse, an HDMI out to monitor and do all this while powering my laptop. It was a hassle to plug in all these cables everytime i changed devices or connected to desk setup. Now all i need is to connect is just 1 USB C cable of the hub. I just wish the cable was long so that i didnt have to move the hub with all connected cables whenever i had to change laptop orientation or position or use a laptop with different location of the USB C port. The HooToo hub provides the necessary ports in a small form factor and works well with everything I've connected to it. No flickering in the HDMI display or any random disconnections during working.

Unexpectedly Classy & a Good Value to Boot!
I bought this based on one of those "Best XXX for XXX" when researching USB-C hubs for my 2020 Macbook pro. I've had it for 2 weeks and have used it mostly for USB ports. I've not yet used the SD Card reader or the HDMI Port but, if they work like the rest of it does, I'm confident they'll be fine.Quick bullet-list. Read below for details:-Charges laptop through it's connection-Multiple ports for many functions-Classy-looking fit & finish-Easy to work into your physical desktop environment-Doesn't take up a lot of real estate on my laptop-Great value for the price.Appearance & Aesthetics:The HooToo USB-C hub is a muted dark grey with a matte finish. My laptop is the "Space Gray" offered by Apple and it appears to be a natural part of the suite. By comparison, my black Logitech Mouse stands out as does my white Apple headphones. The HooToo USB-C hub does not light up, it does not flash. It blends in well to my laptop environment. The 6-inch cord allows it to be positioned as needed and leaves the adjacent USB-C port on my laptop free for another connection. I didn't expect it to actually look good and that's a nice surprise.Functionality:All used USB ports work well. Having three right there allows me to connect a mouse, USB Flash drive and another accessory as needed (I'll try a keyboard later). My Macbook Pro has 4 USB-C ports but if you didn't get the higher-end MacBook, you'll only have two, side by side. The super cool thing is that you can connect your power cable via the USB-C Female connector on the hub and it powers your MacBook as well as any accessories connected to the hub. Hella-smart! I like it.Smartest accessory I've bought for my Macbook. Makes me regret the $19.99 I spent for a SINGLE USB-C to USB adapter from Apple. For less than twice the price, I got three USB ports, pass-through charging, SD card readers, and an HDMI connection in a snazzy looking package.Reccomended. Would buy again.

Great build quality, plenty of ports, good price.
I use my iPad pro 11in as a laptop alternative when I'm on the go, and the only thing that slows me down is the single port on the iPad. I was looking for a decent hub with a variety of ports, commonality with my MacBook Pro and iPad pro, AND the ability to charge via this hub while in use. This hub fulfills all of these needs quite well.I've purchased no small number of knock off computer accessories over the years, and I am usually less than satisfied with the quality, even if it worked as advertised. The fit and finish always seemed to come up short. Not so with this hub. It's built from aluminum (I think) and it has a sort of non-skid finish. It's heavy enough to feel substantial, and the ports are all snug and secure. The main USB C connection is a bit tighter than I like when inserting it in my Macbook or iPad, but not so tight that I'm afraid it will break something. It's just a bit too snug, but it works fine in spite of that, and maybe it'll loosen a bit over time. The only drawback that I can really think of is that the cord is a bit short and a bit more rigid than I prefer. Since the cord is a little short, it usually means that the hub dangles a bit when in use as opposed to sitting flush on the workspace. This hasn't caused an issue for me, but it's slightly annoying. And the rigidity of the cord makes me question how it will hold up over time with flexing and bending and not cracking. It seems durable enough, but I'll be watching this over time. From a functionality and quality standpoint - this thing is a great value, and it works fine, gives you plenty of ports and the ability to charge while using it. Can't ask much more of this thing.

I am very pleased with this adapter and it is fantastic value.
I bought the HooToo USB C Hub Adapter, as I've just upgraded my laptop and Tab S7 it only has USB-C connections. This adapter has a 7-in-1 connections including 4K HDMI, USB C Power, 3 USB 3.0 Ports, SD and microSD Card Readers. It has a real quality feel to it that matches the quality of my laptop and tab S7 and after using the various connections continuously for the past couple of days i can honestly say it performed perfectly, with the USB connection giving lightning quick response times. The 4K HDMI connector has also been tested on my 4K TV and was very impressive displaying pixel perfect HDR video and awesome sound.Overall i am very pleased with this adapter and it is fantastic value.

A very versatile hub
I bought this hub for use with my Surface Go 2 to expand available ports and gain an HDMI output.First of all I have to say its clear in the documentation that the Surface Go 2 isn't a supported device for this hub as it doesn't support Thunderbolt. However, even though you do get a power warning when plugged in I still have access to the ports and more importantly an HDMI for external use. I've used this hub with a monitor, external keyboard and mouse connected with no issues.

Easy connect (plug & play)
In summary, very light, compact, fast speed while transferring files. Actually if you have Apple Mac or Microsoft Surface, this product is 100% essential. Its is very lightweight and slim so you can easily fit it in laptop bags. I as a engineer working remotely at home and also I travel a lot, therefore, I need to connect an external wide monitor, and also mouse and keyboard and two of my external hard drives recognises all without problem. I can see all these facilities in this product

Great little item this. My laptop doesn't have many usb ports so this helps lots when needing more. Comes in a nice little velvet bag to help keep it safe from mark's and it from marking my laptop. Great stuff.
