Tastes great, would buy again
I was skeptical but it tastes great, the instructions use measuring teaspoon size approximately. Saves money in the long run and tastes exactly like the bottled tea you can buy in Asian supermarkets and abroad.

Sweet memories from Japan
A friend that knows how many gallons of these I had when on trips to Japan gave one bag of this powdered version. I was kind of suspicious it would taste the same as the bottled one. It does. They cost nothing in Japan but here they cost an arm and a leg so only one glasss every other day 😊

Well Made Instant Tea.
What kind of tea is it?I found this Royal Milk tea fragrant, rich and very satisfying. It was indulgent but not sickly. Seeing Royal milk tea usually contains Assam or Darjeeling tea, it has a very pleasant aroma. I'm glad to say that this brand was no exception.DeliveryYes as some others have pointed out, the delivery takes a while but for me that wasn't so much a problem. I'd rather wait than rush and buy something of lesser quality.AppearanceNow as the images show, the packaging is all in Japanese. So you do have to use a trial and error approach. The instant powder is quite fine and light in colour. However when the tea is made, it looks just like a typical breakfast tea with milk.Taste/Smell/TextureWell aside from having a fragrant but not overwhelming scent. It also Carries a more delicate flavour, which is refreshing and does not linger on your palette. Meaning this tea would go well with many kinds of food but if you prefer stronger flavoured hot drinks, this may not be for you. Personally, I prefer it.Furthermore, the texture of this tea is very smooth and does not leave any unwanted feeling (residue) in your mouth. Both when it's hot or cold. Unlike some teas made with full fat or unskimmed milk may do.Formula/BlendOn the other hand, due to this tea having a replacement for fresh milk as an instant tea, it is a lot sweeter than a Breakfast tea or Earl Grey with milk. Though I'm not sure if this powder contains added sugar or sweeteners. Anyhow, I'm not fond of overly sweet tea, so I ended up using less of the powder. Why is this relevant? Well as it is an instant tea, an all in one blend, if you will. When you use less powder to reduce the sweetness, you also lose some of the tea flavour itself.Ratios/MeasurementsYou can add cold or hot water to the powder mix to make your tea. Using hot water, I found that 1 teaspoon per 300ml was a good for my taste. I used a thermal mug with measurements to experiment with the ratios. Though I'm aware not everyone will be measuring it out like that. So I'd say 1 or 2 level teaspoons is enough for an average sized mug, if you don't want it to be too sweet. I recommend starting with one and adding another if you need more.Price/ConvenienceFinally, is it good value for money? I would say this depends on the person. If you wish to try the tea, then see how you go with further purchases and you aren't in a rush. Then yes this is a good price to pay and well worth it.As opposed to someone who wants to drink this regularly, then buying it this way may not be the best idea. As you do not get much in one pack and it's not easy to find a bulk buy on Amazon. Not to mention the waiting time for your delivery, if you are not close to Japan. (Like myself in England) I would like to state though, that this is more a matter of convenience and demand. If it was solely based on product quality, I'd say this is definitely good value for money.ConclusionOverall this tea has a rich but delicate taste, it's aromatic with a smooth texture. It is also quick and easy to make. However when it comes to the ratio between powder and water, you need to find the right balance to get your preferred strength and sweetness. Which is normal because everyone has different tastes. In my opinion, it is worth the price to enjoy something new.
