Arabic Grammar Unravelled Bilingual Edition

Before setting out to study Arabic, I first taught myself Hebrew this last year and I now read it with good understanding. Because of that experience, and because Arabic is gramattically extremely close to Hebrew, I have a good sense of what works and what is harder than it needs to be when it comes to learning one of the semitic languages. Based on my experience from learning Hebrew and discovering what works, I can say that this particular book is one of the very easiest ways you will EVER try to learn Arabic, and I highly recommend it. The author of this book also has a website at funwitharabic.com and that is actually how I stumbled on this book. If you do purchase this book, I recommend that, while you are waiting for it to arrive, you go to that author's website and work on the Arabic alphabet to get a headstart (I used the website completely for free). I struggled with the Arabic alphabet for a very long time in the past- it always looked like nothing but wiggly lines to me, no matter how hard I tried- but in only a few days at that website (much less than a week!), I was able to transliterate anything I found in Arabic, whether in photos on the news from Libya, or online items, it was all easy after a few days working through the alphabet there; I was even able to read through the first Sura of the Quran, "The Opening", after a few days on that website. That does not mean you will understand the language in a few days, but you will at least be able to recognize and pronounce each of the letters by the time the book arrives at your door. I highly recommend not only this book, but anything else put out by this author. I'm very impressed!

I think this book is good for several reasons. One, it has transliteration, it has lots of examples, and helps you quickly understand some grammar points. It does a good job. I am not an expert on this book. I just think it slightly fell short in the numbers section because it didn't discuss the agreement with numbers 11 and 12 and 21 and 22, 31 and 32. Of course, the numbers are not easy to cover in Arabic. I use this as a tool sometimes in an Arabic class. I use some of the examples, and they work well. It helps me also quickly review things.

Amazing! It is a constant effort for the student of Arabic to find that perfect book. In the end a stack of books are purchased in the attempt to extract a point from this one and a point from that one as one tries to put the pieces together. If only there was a perfect primer book that has done this for you without buying that stack. This is that book. The selections perfect and balanced. A perfect mixture of Verb Morphology and Grammar and well timed introduction of vocabulary interspersed throughout. The fonts are well chosen. Fonts can make or break a book by making the book appealing and accessible or not. These fonts are wonderful. I have purchased two hard copies plus Kindle. One copy to beat to a pulp extracting its gems and one to cherish! The book is beautiful, simple, and thorough. You won't be disappointed.

While I am furthering my studies I picked up this guide which is really nifty. I made my choice based on the previews I checked out on this guide. Having the other guides in this series I wanted to complete my collection here and improve my knowledge.There is a clear explanation of grammar in this guide as well as written exercises which help with learning so much and are what drew me to these guides in the first place.A good guide should be written by native speakers. When I write the language I am learning that makes it it very much fun and the learning is a bonus.Highly recommend.

Amazing book thus far. Coming from a beginner to intermediate level Arabic student. Great buy if your looking to take your Arabic to the next level in an interesting and intuitive way by yourself.
