Excellent Resource
Paul Turner does an excellent job with the resource in preparation for the New Roman Missal. I've gone back again and again in using the book to prepare myself for the implementation of the New Roman Missal. His ideas are clear and he makes the changes easy to understand and I love the history that he includes as to how the Mass developed to where we are today.

A Pastoral Gift
I had the opportunity to read through this book, as I have been preparing to implement the new translation of the Mass in my parishes and it was a delightful experience. The book is indeed a mine of information both theological and historical. It will help the reader to understand and appreciate the splendor and depth of the Eucharist of the Catholic Church. The book helps to recognize the changes in the new translation and to learn the rationale behind them. Separate chapters are provided for each of the four parts of the Mass. Each chapter is then subdivided into sections with a passage from the newly translated Mass, an explanation of its background and questions for discussion and reflection. The commentary provided in the background is often concise, at the same time, complete with historical data, pastoral insights and theological reflections. There are footnotes on each page and a bibliography at the end. It can be a great tool for groups studying the new missal in preparation for its implementation. At this time when pastors grapple with the introduction of the new text in the parishes, this valuable book becomes a true pastoral gift. Paul Turner, a Catholic priest of the diocese of Kansas City, is also a pastor in Cameron, MO. It is his unique and timely contribution to the Church, aiding the smooth introduction of the newly translated missal of 2011.

PEACE MAKERS
This book is a great tool in groups wanting to study the new missal to help them serve as peace makers to others who are resisting the changes that are about to come about.
