609/13W is a medium sized, white leather RNAB, i.e. third edition, with 1970 OT, 1986 NT, and 1991 Psalms. The Amazon description is that this is the 2011 Revised Edition, i.e. NABRE (the fourth edition). The New Testament has the more traditional readings and solemn verbiage of the Mass than the 1970, but in some ways I miss the unique wording of the 1970 NT. I prefer the 1970 Psalter over that of 1991: the ‘91 was overly literal in some ways and gender neutral to a fault in others.This is a beautiful Bible, especially considering the price. It uses a machined bonded leather that seemed well bound (not genuine soft leather, but good enough). Its illustrations are good, but not great. It has a small Bible dictionary, and appropriate Catholic doctrinal index which I wish was bigger. The footnotes are excellent, scholarly, and relevant to Catholic Christian theology. The annotations are updated with the 1986 NT, and 1991 Psalms. This was better than my Oxford Compact NAB that had the footnotes and references at the end of each book.The introductions are more appropriately placed with individual books, which were at the front of my 1970 NAB. It includes the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation, with notes, at the beginning, as well as a Reading Your Bible essay for modern Catholic readers. The book includes a chronology and simple maps and illustrations, but the maps were often black and white, stumbled upon while reading, instead of in a discoverable place similar to the rosary and stations prayers and mysteries, (the rosary was well done, explaining before and after connections to John Paul II’s mysteries, though missing the LofH Marian seasonal antiphons). I miss some of the Catholic prayers at the front of my Oxford edition.All in all, this is my favorite Bible of many, and in some cases fancier, Bibles, but the Saint Joseph Illustrated edition still has room for improvement.

Book is very thick, like 3 inches deep and hard to find cover to fit. Paper is very thin, like what you expect in a bible. The cover is hard with a fabric covering, hard corners, not rounded. I believe the font is size 12 which is perfect and the reason I selected this one.

The publisher states large typeface on box but it is only about 20% larger than inexpensive recent editions. So my father cannot use it. Paper is very white, though. 1992 edition so probably not too many being sold.

This Bible is ok, but it's extremely difficult to follow. There are many footnotes and references that make it hard to follow. I've had to reread sections to get anything out of it.

Purchased for a gift for new catholic. Has lots of biblical info for anyone and should last a life time. I would prefer a thumb index rather than having to apply tabs where needed. Almost everyone I know has multiple bookmarks to keep readings accessible, plus some have ribbons added to serve the same purpose. This is the second one that I have bought.

The description said this was a medium sized print Bible, and that part is true. But it was not published in 1971 but it was published in 2011 and it is the most recent NABRE translation and not the 1971 translation as listed. I can speak to the quality of this Bible or any book published by Catholic Book Publishing. Please be truthful in the descriptions. People depend on Amazon to get what they think they are getting without any deception.

This came really fast and in new condition! It is a bit larger than I was anticipating but for the price it can't be beat. I am now able to read it without my cheaters on and the pictures are amazing!

What an incredible Bible! Big and a lovely white leather cover. The glossy pages full of photos are scattered throughout. The large print is indeed nice and large, I can read this without my glasses which is rare for me! Catholic Book Publishing Co has met all expectations with this beautiful edition of the Bible.
