Picea abies 'Nidiformis' (Birds Nest Spruce) Evergreen, #3 - Size Container

Ordered #3 expecting a 2' to 4' potted tree and instead received a 4" branch. Not what we expected. Very disappointed.

As with another tree I bought on here, I can only review the product as received. I hope to update it in the future as it grows, etc. These are somewhat smaller than the ones we saw local, maybe 1.5 ft - 2ft tall. However, they are very green and fresh!

Due to the Christmas tree shortage this year, we couldn’t find one anywhere. I wanted a real one because of the scent, so I had to get creative and ended up ordering the size 2 option. The tree I received is approximately 26” in height. I couldn’t bring myself to buy those damn mini rosemary Xmas trees that are everywhere. I did some research online and the larger version of this tree is known to have a cat pee smell when cut which is why it’s not sold as an Xmas tree, but the dwarf version said it was a mild pine scent so I was a little nervous. Compared to a regular Xmas tree I can say the scent is similar but much milder and a tiny bit sour.. but not smelling cat pee thank god... probably because it’s still growing in dirt. Arrived in good shape/ well packaged, but the pot itself has numerous cracks in it.. not a big deal. The Pine needles are a little sharp; got a few stuck in my hand while decorating. Considering planting after Xmas, just not sure if it’ll survive in South Florida climate. Overall I’m happy.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it arrived with crooked top ( see picture). I intended to use it for Christmas tree in my Mom’s room in the nursing home. Otherwise, it is a beautiful tree. I’ll enjoy watching it grow!UPDATE: The middle of June this tree died suddenly!! I am heartbroken😣

I'm in Colorado at 7300' elevation and these Blue Spruces love it. Started growing in the pot as soon as they arrived, got extra 4" of growth in the pot before I planted them 4 weeks later. They're very very blue and tough little trees. I think I'm up to 5" of total extra growth over the 2' arrival size and it's only been 2 months. I drip irrigate every other day and use a triangle fence to keep them from blowing over. We have huge winds here. So far these trees are charging hard!!

Oh how I love this little tree. She has a special place in my garden. Our family has named her Claudia. Seriously! Lol. We decorate her for the wildlife every year. She arrived in beautiful shape. I have ordered plants online before but have not been as pleased as I was with this one. Shes a bit pricey but so worth it! No transplant shock. Shes not fussy. She is beautifully blue. I will definitely be ordered again from you. Thank you. Ya'll know what you are doing and it shows!
