A truly excellent tome depicting a grim and deadly underworld for use with pen and paper RPG systems, an underworld referred to as the veins of the earth.The book kicks off with a bestiary. Just about every being listed offers a brutal end. You can feel the struggle of exploring the veins with each description. Every encounter is deadly. Of course, the referee (GM) may bend the rules to the benefit of their game, but the savagery on offer really strikes a chord with me.Other sections explain food, light, surviving. I'm finding the book very useful for world building inspiration.It helps that the book looks excellent. Fairly small, hardback. The layout of each page is crammed with info, not an inch of space is wasted. The paper is of superb quality, the artwork is abstract and evocative. Proud to have this work among my collection.

A real treasure
Glad to have snagged a copy of this, beautiful book (shame the cover’s gloss instead of matte) with a ribbon bookmark too as a nice flourish.
