Travel Fins
This is my second set. My first fins lasted about 6 years before the rear strap broke on one fin. The replacement strap cost more than purchasing new fins. I researched alternatives but bought another pair. I used diving socks when breaking them in, then used them without diving socks. (I should have said I put many swim and snorkeling miles on the first pair). I was stung by stingrays twice, with the barb penetrating the bottom of the fin, but the fin reduced the penetration into my foot. They are great for travel and everyday use.

Perfect Travel Fins for short swims
Overall, I liked these flippers a lot. I used them for a week-long snorkeling trip in the Bahamas and was pleased with the results.Pros:1. Easy to transport. Compact size makes them easy to carry, especially if flying. I was able to take them in my carry-on.2. Easy to walk in. Walking forward in flippers is usually impossible, but you can in these!3. Easy to take on/off. The short length and quick-tighten straps makes these easy to manage when you're getting pounded by waves in the surf zone. They're also easy to quickly adjust while swimming.4. Comfortable. The rubber heel strap cinches on both sides making them highly adjustable.5. Wide size range. I have W size 7 feet and got the small which fit great, and they also worked on someone with much larger feet than my own. This also means that you should probably wear them with swim booties though.Cons:1. Require more energy to swim. It makes sense that since these are compact flippers, they have less surface area and thus aren't as effective as larger flippers. The question is, how much less effective are they than bigger flippers? I definitely needed to work harder to get around in these. However, I'm not a very strong swimmer, and for the most part short swims in calm to moderately choppy water were fine. On longer swims though it was pretty exhausting using these flippers, especially when the tide was going out. I would have felt much safer in larger fins that were more energy-efficient.Overall, these were excellent fins. If you're only using them in a pool, calm water, or for short snorkels, or if you're a confident swimmer they are great, but if you're doing something more involved you might want to consider standard-sized fins.

Good fins but didn't fit me.
I bought two pair of these about 10 years ago and I really liked them for travel. Compact and easy to transport. I ordered a new set in size Large for an upcoming trip and I couldn't even fit my feet into them. I wear size 10 shoes. Not sure what changed but I don't think it was my feet. Unfortunately I had to return them and get some standard size fins that fit me better.

Super adjustable
These are really adjustable. I am a women's size 9 1/2 and bought the medium size. I can wear them over bare feet or with a diving sock or even over a pair of light reef booties, which is really great when snorkeling off a beach in Hawaii where there are big waves and sharp rocks. The adjustment mechanism is different from the actual buckle that clips the strap to the fin, so I could adjust the fins to fit over my booties while on the beach, carry the fins out past the breakers without cutting up my feet, and then slip the fins on over my booties in deep water. My old fins were too tough for me to put on once I was out in the ocean so I would have to put them on at the beach and back into the waves, which was not ideal when the waves got more than a few feet high.I also found that I like the size. Not only are they easy to pack and tote around in a day pack, but the size enables me to move through the water for hours while snorkeling without getting the sore muscles I used to get using my longer divers fins.

Not very comfortable
I wish I had returned these, they are not very comfortable.

Compact Fins, Work Great!
I was really surprised when we got these fins at how small they are. I'd say the length is about 50% of what I'm used to from traditional fins. I was a little worried that they wouldn't be effective, but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly these things can move you through the water! My wife and I each brought a pair of these to St. John on our honeymoon, and we have been snorkeling all over the island with them. They're easy to throw in our backpacks and carry to remote locations, but still work great. Never once in the water have I thought, "I wish my fins were bigger!" - these work just great for everything we've been doing. If you're a real serious snorkeler/swimmer/diver, then maybe these fins would be too limiting to you - but for casual people looking to check out some sea turtles or coral reefs they are awesome. The only negative comment I would make is that the fit is narrow. The sizing information available is not that great, so I had to kind of guess. I normally wear a 10.5 or 11 shoe (in normal, not wide). I got the large (10-13) men's fins and they are very tight on my foot. They're not painful, but pretty uncomfortable to put on - although I'll admit that I do forget about the discomfort as soon as I start checking out some tropical fish! This is the reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5. I doubt you'll be disappointed with these fins, but just be aware of the sizing issues.

Easy to travel with
Purchased these fins prior to a trip to Kauai. I was fortunate enough to have 7 snorkeling excursions (2 separate beaches) and this product worked perfectly for me.

L doesn't really fit men's size 13.
Bought these for snorkeling on vacation. Feel solid, fit nicely in the carry-on, and reasonable propulsion for the size. Other reviews are right tho, the straps can come undone - one of three pairs bought last year slipped constantly. Just ordered the L size for my husband, and really not comfortable for size 13. Not quite long enough, and inadequate width. Do they just make them longer, but not wider? For the amount of time he'll be wearing them, he'll make do, but if there was an XL, I'd send them back.

They run very small
I wear size 12 or 13 Mens shoes, so I ordered the largest size. I could barely fit my toes into them. Maybe a size 11 could squeeze into them, but I think even then they'd be too tight.Too bad, as they're nice fins.

Bright, good river and pond size, but straps are iffy
When I buy these I immediatly replace the straps. the adjuster snaps off and also the pull rings tear open. This is my fourth purchase of this shorty fin, better straps with connectors are $20. through Amazon

Poor sizing
Sizing very misleading originally purchased a medium from another supplier. Tried a large size thinking they be wider and longer.Only difference is that large is about 1/2 inch longer. Same width. I have elected to make do with the large size even though no significant between medium and large. Not very pleased with piuchase

Ok, adjusters not great.
I like the compact size, and the sizing was accurate. They seems to be durable enough. However the adjustment did not hold. I had to install zip ties around the straps to keep them from loosening. The ratchet nubs are not aggressive or hard enough. I may keep them anyway because they work fine with the modification.
