These are the same as quinoa *flakes* -- they're tasty and really delicious!
Although this is expensive, it's really delicious! I actually bought it because an apple crisp recipe I found on a blog called for them, and, before then, I had no idea that this brand's Hot Cereal Flakes were the same as regular quinoa flakes, which I've seen as an ingredient in other recipes. You can cook these on the stovetop or the microwave, and they turn out great either way. I've used them in place of my morning oatmeal quite a bit.If you're interested, here is the apple crisp recipe I found on the Simply Quinoa blog that inspired me to buy these:Slow Cooker Quinoa Apple CrispIngredients 6 large apples, any variety 3/4 cup Madhava Coconut Sugar, divided 2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided 1 teaspoon lemon juice 1 cup oats (quick cooking or regular) 1 cup quinoa flakes 2 tablespoons coconut flour Pinch of salt 5 tablespoons coconut oilInstructions--Core and slice the apples then place them into a large bowl. Top with 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and the lemon juice, and toss to combine. Transfer the apples to the bottom of you slow cooker.--In the same large bowl, combine the oats, quinoa flakes, coconut flour, remaining coconut sugar and cinnamon, and the salt. Whisk to combine.--Add the coconut oil into the bowl the stir together to form a sand texture - you still want there to be small chunks of coconut oil there. Sprinkle the topping on top of the apples.--Turn the slow cooker on high and cook for 2 hours with the cover on. After two hours, remove the cover and continue to cook for one hour.--Serve with a dollop of ice cream and a sprinkle more sugar.Bon appetit!

Try it...you'll love it!
If you have a recipe that calls for oatmeal - use this instead! I'm having so much fun adding these quinoa flakes to recipes! Excellent in cookies, for sure, and will be an excellent hot cereal this winter that will not cause inflammation the way oats do.

Healthy meal
This is a super quick breakfast. I add almond milk and banana then no sugar needed. It’s a good amount of protein. Cooks in 90 seconds after the liquid is boiling. Also, no rinsing needed like traditional quinoa.

Deceptive "Use by" date
When I opened the box for my first serving, I noticed some little pink flakes. I don't ever remember that before in other boxes. Then I thought the smell and taste were a bit off, more musty and bitter than usual. I told myself these things were probably nothing. Then I noticed there was a black mark through the bar codes on every box. Hmmm. The Best by date on the box said Feb. 01 2024. Then I pulled out the bag inside and it says Best by Feb. 01 2021. I hate dishonesty and will never buy from this company again!

Pricy but delicious
This product is a key ingredient in my family's delicious top-secret vegan matzoh ball recipe. I've already said too much.

Great Healthy Alternative to the SAD Breakfast!
We all know we need to get healthy grains into our diet but it isn't always easy to try to figure out where and how to fit it in. This cereal makes it easy. In less than 2 minutes you have a starter to a good healthy breakfast. I like to change it up every day and this cereal is neutral enough so you can do that. One day I'll add a little coconut oil (for creaminess) and strawberries and the next it's be dollop of peanut butter or a small piece of melted cocao. There is no limit to how you can make this different every day. One think is for certain - this is a breakfast you can feel good about eating, and feel good after eating it too!

Don't buy a 3 pack
I absolutely love this product but I bought the 3 pack I ate the one and then when I went to open the other two boxes they both had those bugs in them so I think they were old so if I was to order again I would probably get one box at a time and it's really a shame because I really love the quinoa flakes

For me, that it's gluten free.
But I realize others may not have a problem with gluten. I use this in my GF breakfast cereal blend, along with rolled oats, oat bran, some seeds, etc. Before I had to go gluten-free (celiac), I used wheat flakes in my blend; this replaces them nicely, and are certainly healthier for me. Too bad they're so expensive, but so it goes.
