4' x 4' GoGo Pet Products Exercise Pen UV Top / Cover Hunter Green

After years of going on vacation, putting up our dog pen and then trying to throw various things over the top to help provide shade, I finally looked for something to specifically fit their pen. This cover was just what we wanted, it even repelled the rain that we experienced! Our dogs stayed cool and out of the sun. I would've given this 5 stars but there are 2 things that would make it even better. One being that the straps to attach the cover to the pen would be easier to use if they were velcro for easier attaching and removal. The other issue is one that other reviewers mentioned; the cover comes over the top and that means it covers the opening where the door is in most pens. We ended up tucking that part of the cover behind the door.

I bought two of these, one for myself and one for a friend, but ended up using both of them for myself, so I had to buy a couple more for my friend! The outside is a nice heavy nylon fabric, and the inside is a silver UV protection fabric. With my ex-pen set up 4' x 4', I used one for a bottom floor and the other as a top to contain my dogs in a dirt arena. The 2" sides of the covers kept the dirt out on the bottom and made it easy to fit the top to my pen. The covers hosed off easily and dried quickly once I was home. I think they would even work if your ex-pen doesn't have a door, as long as you open your pen to the inside instead of trying to pull it out past the cover. I just wish they had used velcro or snaps on the straps to attach the cover to the pen, instead of buckles, which are slower and more work. But overall this seems like a good product which will hopefully last many summers!

I bought this item because I have a 1 year old Shiba Inu at home. He was able to jump over the cage without something over it. Picked this up and strapped it on. He can no longer jump out of it, now he goes under it. I will be buying another one to make a floor with so he can be caged up while I'm at work with plenty of room to run around. These will also come in handy when I go camping and bring him with me. The top can keep him safe from the hot sun and the bottom can keep him from getting dirty. All in all this is a nice product!

Very nice quality and the price is reasonable. The buckle attachments are fine if you don't plan to move the x-pen often. However, if you frequently set-up and tear down for weekly dog shows, the buckles are a total pain. I cut mine off and sewed Velcro on instead. This was a vast improvement. I would have given the product 5 stars except for the pesky buckles. Otherwise, a great x-pen cover. I bought the green and the color is very nice.

I needed an exercise pen for my two 10 pound dogs for camping. One of the dogs is sneaky and can get out of the pen. I saw these and read a review from a person that bought two and used one for a top, one for the bottom. Brillant idea! We are doing the same. The covers are very nice, heavy weight canvas, but still lighter than hauling a metal cover or crate. They keep the dog in, provide nice shade from the sun, and the pen with the covers is very managable for us. A crate is less space for the dog and heavier to transport. With the pen and these awesome covers the dogs get more space (4x4) and we have less pounds of metal to haul around. When camping, space and the weight of things is always an issue so this is great.

Even though I have the wrong type of pen for this cover (no door) this top still works pretty well and is a nice well made top. The straps are a bit short to fit my pen also. But I'm still happy with it. I just need to come up with a solution for the straps, but I am able to strap enough of them to keep the top on the pen and make it work.

I got this to put on top of the dog pen for 2 Jack Russell terriers while camping at the lake. It is made very well with good thick material and strong stitching. I looks like it will stand up to many years use in the Arizona sun. The plastic buckles are strong but are the only thing that worries me. If they ever rot out in the sun and break I will just replace them with Velcro. It provided good shade for the dogs all weekend long.I draped a wet towel over the side that the Sun was facing and it gave them a nice cool shade throughout the pen. I would recommend this product.

The GoGo pen makes for a great outdoor enclosure for our two miniature rabbits, and this cover seemed like a great option for keeping their food and shelter dry and cool in summer.Unfortunately, the outer nylon cover is not waterproof and rain seeps through this and is trapped by the coated plastic layer underneath, stretching it if left for any period of time. The cover has to be removed from the pen to drain the water and dry the fabric before using again. Having to put a tarp over the cover to keep it dry seems ridiculous.
