Amazing Book!
Everyone has different opinions about things in life. I loved this book. I have bought soooo many draping books, and this one is one of my favorites. I think the instructions are very easy to follow, the art work is modern and the pictures of the samples are clear. It is not a book to learn how to sew. It is a book to teach you some couture techniques in pleating, folding and draping that you can apply to your design. Do not expect to see a fully sewn dress in there, only draping samples. Overall, it is a great fashion textile book.

What were they thinking?
This is not a valid review because I did not see the book. But just looking at the drab ugly cover makes you realize there is a lack of imagination. What colors would you use to reproduce the same cover? UPDATE ok, so my sister said the photo of the cover wasn't so bad. She said they were "preppie" colors. I decided to see a full-sized version of the cover, so I bought the book. DON'T BOTHER. There is one really cute diagram of a garment, but I don't think the pleats would hold up this way in an actual garment. I am sorry to disappoint Ms. Giannangeli and all her friends/relatives who wrote nasty things about me, but this book is not a useful addition to your reference material. signed: this Kapustka character.

underwhelming
This book is a huge disappointment. I expected to see photos of pleats, folds, draping on couture garments. I also expected to have information on a larger range of folded applications. That is not the case-- It covers 25 techniques with a sample photo of manipulated fabric (not a garment), 'how to do' instructions written in English and repeated AGAIN, in French, and a fashion sketch of each application. That's it. No eye candy. Nada.Save your money. You are better off buying The Art of Manipulating Fabric, by Colette Wolff. If you already have Wolff's book, you have the best that is out there.

Very disappointed
I received this book today, (after pre ordering it 6 months ago) and am very disappointed with it. The techniques in it are nothing really 'new' , and using the techniques in it, in my opinion could only result in an unflattering and ugly design. It is certainly not about new and innovative techniques. Very underwhelming.

Pleats Book
This book was easy to follow and has great pointers.

wasn't as informative as i thought
It was very basic. The word couture implied to me it would have some complex but interesting methods in it. I read it in about twenty minutes and it is more suited to a novice .

Disappointed...
Disappointing - just states the obvious! This book tried to jump on the quirky clothing bandwagon but falls on the track.
