Ice lasted 7 days. setting inside of my cabin in deer season.
Lasted 7 days before ice was gone. Made this years deer hunt easier. I would recommend this to anybody wanting to do an extended stay in camp. I stayed a few weeks so I drove into town as needed for more ice but I didn't go in for ice as often as I use to with my old smaller cooler. I loved the top open door, This was were I left my milk and pop set for easy access without having to open the entire lid. I have nothing negative to say about this. It does weigh more but what I did was leave the large ice bags laying outside on my trailer until after I got the cooler set up in my cabin then I carried the ice in, Other wise I don't think I would have been able to have man handled it myself but this 7 day cooler was worth that small amount of effort to be able to basically forget about it for a week setting in my living room with the exception of a short hose I left hooked up that I would run out the door every few days to drain water out of it. Thanks for making this extended cooler for us guys that want to spend our time hunting instead of driving into town every few nights for more ice.

How to ditch you refridgerator
this cooler is amazing at holding cold and now functions as my refrigerator. i am a single male living in the colorado rockies at 8200' so this works well for me. it may not for you.HOW TO DITCH YOUR FRIDGE1. buy this cooler2. buy the stainless steel replacement hinges and closing clasp and replace the factory ones3. buy a refrigerator thermometer3. get yourself some empty plastic containers. the bigger the better. i have 2 6 gallon containers that used to contain liquid fertilizer. i also have a few extra gallon jugs from cooking oil. i take the 6 gallon containers and fill them with about 5 gallons of water (leaving room for the ice to expand) and freeze them.this is the part where my location comes into play. most of the year the temperature drops below freezing at night so while i have one 6 gallon container in the cooler i have the other one outside freezing. i keep my food refrigerated all winter for free. and in the summer i use my deep freezer to freeze the water. if i am not already running it to keep meat frozen then i will turn it on for one day a week to freeze water.this is the first affordable cooler i have found that even makes this possible. no other cooler i have ever tried keeps ice so long

Great Cooler
So we typically roast a pig every Christmas. Our old cooler was toast after years of use. We wanted a cooler large enough to fit a roasting pig inside. This cooler did a great job and to our surprise keep the ice longer than we expected. It said 7 days of ice on the sticker but we have had several cooler that made those claims only to fall short. And we are not spending the kind of money needed for a Yeti or something of this nature, we just do not use it that often. We roasted our pig and cleaned the cooler put a few bag of ice it and forgot about it. The ice lasted a little over a week in the hot Florida sun so we were impressed. We would buy this one again. Can't really beat it for a large cooler that holds ice really well.

Great cooler for the money!!
I sure do love this cooler! I bought to fill with water and I piped a U shaped 3/4" pipe into the top back side of this cooler for my chickens to drink from. The U shaped pipe run's inside their run and I drilled holes in the bottom of the pipe for "chicken nipples". They are little waterers for the chickens to drink from. I am using a pond pump to circulate the water through the pipe and with this much water it doesn't freeze in the winter!!! My chickens always have water and I never have to check it :)! I did add a bottle of apple cider vinegar to the cooler water to kill anything in the water and also because it's good for animals. It kills worms inside chickens and it's even good for our dogs. This system has been in use for about 5 months now, so I think it's going to work, but I couldn't have done it without this awesome cooler!

Tough, roomy, good price
This is a solid, large, versatile cooler. The hatch on top would really only be useful for reaching in and getting cans, etc., for example while tailgating, but it's a good feature and I don't think it hurts the integrity of the cooling any. The handles were tough enough for me to drag the cooler, while completely full, out of my truck, across the driveway, up onto my porch, then maneuver it around. They aren't breaking without a fight. The cooler is definitely built tough, and handled a 400 mile round trip to North Carolina, wild boar hunting. I got a 325 pound hog and after dressing, the ENTIRE ANIMAL fit into this cooler, along with 40 pounds of ice. Turns out there was about 200 pounds total of meat and ice in the cooler, and it arrived intact and cold after a 4 hour trip home.As others have said, the hinges aren't the best, but they held up fine for me. The reason I'm knocking this down a star is that the latches don't seal up tight. They close, but there is no positive "click" or "snap" to know when they are closed, and they don't seal the lid tightly. I know I lost some cooling effectiveness because the cooler didn't seal up tight. I may go ahead and upgrade the latches and hinges...but that adds to the cost of the cooler and makes it less of a value.Nevertheless, I made a wise choice and this certainly held up to a rugged first test. You really can't go wrong for camping and everyday use.

Great cooler. Weak hinge
Used this cooler for a 2 day camping trip and it did a wonderful job of holding ice and keeping the food cold. 2nd day I thought I may have needed to buy more bags of ice. Not at all. Opened the cooler and sure enough there was still ice from when we left for our trip. Make sure to freeze what foods you can to help prolong this. Works out great I’ve always been a fan of igloo coolers. Oh and for those wondering. The cooler sat outdoors the whole trip. We’d only move it into shade to keep it out of the sun.
