Wilde Tool G705.B/CS 10" Compound Lock Ring Pliers-Black Oxide

I am a plumber. I have been looking for a tool to install the metal ring on a garbage disposal without having to use a second person, or having to use a lead ingot to hold the basket down. This is definitely a great tool for that. You still have to keep the metal ring from twisting, but it works great! I would recommend.

I just worked on my transfer case where I needed these and they worked great. The compound action and size made removing the snap rings a breeze. There is a divot at the tip on the outboard side that will allow the snap rings that have a point to lock in place and helps to keep the pliers on the snap ring during removal. The tool quality is also very good and opens and closes with ease. One other plus is that these are made in the US.

There is nothing in the description on how far it opens. I asked and was given a measurement of 2 inches. This is incorrect. It only opens 1.5 inches.

First of all, picture shown is not the G705.B/CS black oxide compound ring pliers, 10". The actual pliers are black and are compound hinged to multiply force at the tips. That being clarified, these pliers are well crafted, heavy duty, and beautifully finished. They remove lock rings with ease. The tips have indents so the lock ring does on slip off the plier tip, which is a common problem with most lock ring plier designs.

I needed heavy duty snap ring pliers for rebuilding my NV4500 transmission. These got the job done. And some of the snap rings in this transmission are STOUT!

Otherwise an excellent tool, except the pliers could have been made from thicker material. As is the frame bends a lot if used with strong snap rings
