Fake boots? Either that, or this company needs a new QC department.
I wrote the company with the below concerns and they sent me a garbled, unclear message back written by someone who didn't understand me, and I certainly couldn't understand them. I only OWN one pair of footwear, these -- yes, that comes as a shock to a lot of people but in the past I've never needed more than one pair at a time. So they'd have to send me a replacement before I returned these else I'd be walking around barefoot, but I don't think they understood this.I have abnormally wide feet - an EEE width. Great for balance - horrible for shoe shopping. I'm a size 8 but I scale up to accommodate for the width, because I know I'll be stretching them. My size puts me in the *just* too small category to be able to shop in the men's boots section.I got these boots with the intention of breaking them in proper and slow. Sadly I didn't get the chance. They did arrive faster than expected; I was packing for a two-month trip and these arrived the day before when I wasn't expecting them until after I'd left. I'm glad they did, because my previous boots (Fryes: never again) chose that very second to completely bite the dust. Like, AS I was waiting curbside for my cab to the airport the stitching completely gave way and the ball of my foot came popping out. There's obviously no fixing this in a quick moment, so I put them straight into the trash bin and put on the Wolverines that I was planning on breaking in and stretching when I returned from this trip. Oh well.I noticed right out of the box the textures of each boot was different - like they were made from leather in very different lots. I also noticed, while my right foot is the larger one, the left shoe hardly fit and gave me the most pain and in a different place than usual; towards the top of my foot. The shoes are the same length and width - it's the instep which is smaller and sewn incorrectly on the left boot. I've since returned from my trip and am working on stretching it to equal the other one, but I shouldn't have to use a stretcher to make a pair of shoes be the same size. The laces these came with are thin and not long enough; I could only lace them up to the first hook, leaving the top two hooks open. That was a bummer, since most of my two-month trip was going to be hiking - so no ankle support. But then once I realized how very slippery the soles of these boots are, most of my hiking and bouldering I did barefoot instead (otherwise I wouldn't be here to write this review). One lace broke the second time I ever laced it up.Upon my plane landing in Albuquerque I scoured the area for boot stores and found a Red Wing store to buy some laces, leather conditioner, waterproofing material, and most of the things I use to break in new boots and care for them at home. The only laces I could find skinny enough to get through the eyelets weren't long enough to lace up the whole way, so I resigned myself to keeping the top two hooks open. Note: that's annoying. Expect them to get caught on everything, including each other, and rip all of your clothes. I eventually ran into someone on the road with pliers, and plied them shut so they'd stop stabbing me.These boots looked rough and unkempt from day one and no amount of conditioner or polish is going to change that. If that's something you care about. I don't, really. I just wanted a pair of comfy boots that would last me years. Same as I was disappointed by the Fryes, I am disappointed by these. I thought this was supposed to be a company with a good reputation?

Super Quality but They REALLY run large
I ordered those shoes according to the size chart given.I usually wear a 38.5 european size, wich is equivalent to a US women size 8.So I ordered my Wolverine in 7.5, because it is well known that you should go for a half smaller size than your actual size with this model. Yet they are still a bit too large (and I have wide feet)The 7.5 US woman I ordered is a european size 39.However, the shoes are fantastic, very well made. You can tell that this is a top quality pair of boots and they will last for a long time. They worth their price.Maybe the seller or Amazon should add a sizing help guide and it would be perfect.

I love my brown pair
I love my brown pair. I bought a pair of Evelyn style in 2014 and they still are tight no matter how much I stretched them. Don't listen to reviews about buying .5 size smaller like the Evelyn. the boots in your size are very roomy and one can always put a Dr. Scholls in for more arch or comfort.I love them the way they are and are roomy and no break-in needed.

This happened to the point where I was embarrassed they looked like that. I reached out to Wolverine
I have two experiences with these boots. I bought them originally at a shoe store in Canada while on vacation and immediately upon wearing them, the black started to wear off and a lighter color appeared underneath. This happened to the point where I was embarrassed they looked like that. I reached out to Wolverine, whose customer service is great. They asked for pictures and determined that it was a defect in the boot. Wolverine sent me a new pair. I wore them once and again IMMEDIATELY a scuff appeared on the top of the foot and the tongue is absolutely destroyed. I don't even understand the tongue at all. This is after conditioning the shoes. For the price, I am so disappointed. They are comfy and cute, but not with scuff marks everywhere. I have a feeling soon enough they will look too bad to wear once again.

Cute, but pretty s***ty boots.
The top eyelet ripped right out probably around mile 26.Also the leather isn't actually dyed black, it's painted black, so it scuffs super bad.
