It is necessary to know shapes to understand what one is seeing.In this book, children learn not only about the various shapes by looking at fun shaped characters and several other items with the shape from daily life, they also learn about two and three dimensional items, and they learn new words like direction, crescent, croissant, and semicircle.

He loves this book. It has definitely helped with shape recognition and seeing the 3d shapes are great.
