17" X 17" Wool Pressing Mat for Quilting - 100% New Zealand Wool Ironing Pad for All Ironing Station

I’m new to quilting and sewing even though I’m 50 and come from a family of sewers. This suits my space and needs perfectly and, for me, far better than my ironing board. There is a little bit of a “wool” smell but is not off putting to me and is already dissipating after just this first project. I’ve seen reviews say do Not use steam and others say it’s fine. I protect my surface under the wool pressing mat and steam away and have had no issues. I make certain to keep an eye on how steamy or wet it might get underneath ( not overly if you ask me ) and cool/dry accordingly. I absolutely love this pressing mat.

I like having a small ironing pad next to my sewing machine. It is great for sewing projects and touchups on clothing. I've seen that some people notice an odor, but I did not. I fully recommend this product. It performs as advertised.

I saw one of these in the local quilt shop for close to twice the price. I wanted one, but sure didn't like the "off the shelf" price at the shop. I've used this a couple time and it really makes pressing go quite a bit faster as the heat travels down from the iron and up from the wool mat. After using it a few times in pressing boarders for my quilts, I now wish I would have bought the rectangle one instead of the square, but since this will likely last forever (with proper care) I will learn to love this one.

I had a hard time picking out a mat for pressing. I had heard people talk of wool mats shedding and smelling awful. I am so happy I chose this mat, it had the right price and I have not had problems with it shedding on my fabric or with smell. They included instructions on recommended use of mat and how to care and maintain the mat. That is much appreciated. I do not and have never used steam. The quality of the mat is just excellent and it is reasonably priced. My blocks and seams were flatter like people have claimed. The wool holds the fabric in place and this has helped my half square triangles not distort. A problem I had before even with the DIY board I made with cotton canvas and batting. I am very pleased.

I needed something convenient to use to iron quilt pieces and quilt blocks. The wool pressing mat is ideal in size and usefulness. I can use it with a standard sized iron and even with steam, the pressing mat works! It did have a mild odor, but is not offensive and after several uses, the scent has worn off (ironed fabric doesn’t smell). The pad is thick and firm and does not transfer the moisture from the steam to my sewing table, which is great! I purchased the mat on a whim, but am very pleased with my purchase.

This is a very nice mat. I put it on top of a thick piece of wood to avoid heat damage to my table.The mat doesn’t have any smell to it, like people attributed to some brands. I’m happy with my purchase.

I really like this mat! I brought it to a retreat and it fit nicely on a little table beside my sewing space. I do a lot of small piecing and it makes pressing those short seams much easier. It also makes pressing a plain piece of fabric much faster. To make this great product even better, customer service is phenomenal! A lot of reviews I have read on wool pressing mats comment on the odor that comes from them. I noticed a minimal odor when I first started using it but after a short while that was gone. I was able to use lots of steam and Best Press when it was absolutely necessary.

This is a terrific pressing mat. I just wish I had purchased it a long time ago! I make quilts and lots of the pieces are small - this mat really helps in getting a good seam with no pleats.
