Satisfied Purchase
First I will say that I am easily typing this very review from this device while multitasking between other apps/programs. I made this purchase after returning the Dell Venue 8 Pro because the Dell 8" screen didn't cut it plus I had numerous performance issues plus the Aus was on sale for only $219. I have had my Asus Vivotab now for 4 days and absolutely love it!The keyboard that comes with it feels very solid and tough (not cheaply made), the battery life is amazing (I go almost 3 full days on a charge with the keyboard attached approximately 70% of the time), the touch screen is very responsive, and overall it feels like a very well made product. I rated it a 4 out of 5 for two reasons: 1) the initial setup of running updates and running into the screen freeze issue (see below) was VERY frustrating but I made it past that none the less 2) the tablet itself fits into the keyboard dock easily but wiggles just a tad when moving it (I will be reaching out to Asus to see if there is a fix or to get a replacement).I will pass along some advice though... when you first get the device you will need to install 60+ updates including moving to Windows RT 8.1 (which IMO is much better) and quite possibly more than one time (I had to twice). Plug it in and plan on it taking 1 or more hours to complete. After the update goes through you may encounter (as I did) the screen freezing while in sleep mode. In other words when you try to press the power button to restore it / wake it up nothing happens. Good news is there is a fix and mine has worked perfectly since I updated the setting. You will need to change an embedded option which allows the device to be turned off after being in sleep mode for one minute or longer. p.s. I guided to this resolution online in a forum so I cannot take credit but I still had to dig to find it.Here are the steps:Go to the desktop, open up control panel (swipe from right then press settings), when control panel opens you will need to search for "usb" in the search box at the top right, then select "Device Manager", then scroll to the bottom and expand/click "Universal Serial Bus controllers", you will then see one or two (mine had two) links titled "USB Root Hub", start by clicking/double clicking one then go to the "Power Management" tab, you will need to uncheck the box labeled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", if you only have one link then you are all set, if you have two you simply click on the second one and uncheck that same box.I hope this was helpful. Enjoy!

So getting this Win RT was easy for me
I have to say I am very surprised with this tablet. I have a full size ultrabook running Windows 8.1. So getting this Win RT was easy for me. I bought this specifically for my daughter who needs it for her school work on websites running flash. I would never get iPad for this reason. I have an iPad at home and my kids hate it because of its limitations.Turning this on and setting it u took a while. The next thing I did next was running all the updates. The download of the win 8.1 files took a whole night and then installing the updates took forever. Once everything is updated, the tablet seems a little faster. The download of app also improves dramatically. While there are limited apps in Win 8.1 and learning the new OS did need some time to get use to, I actually prefer this over IOS. The navigation seems seamless and works really well. This Asus is able to operate with some acceptable lag. Not too shabby $200 tablet compare to iPad $500 price tag. The bud quality is great too. The metal backing looks solid and the front screen is very expensive. the only negative thing is the wide bezel in the screen - really wasted space. The sound is a pass, not the greatest. The camera is also not bad but definitely won't win any awards. The keyboard that came with the package is also solid built. In the keyboard is some extra battery that helps boost the use of the tablet. When closed it looks like a normal laptop, which is great. Be careful when removing the tablet because my son was able to freeze the tablet when he removes it carelessly. One thing that did annoyed me with the tablet at first was after it went to sleep the tablet cannot be waken up without shutting down and reboot the tablet. This is an inherent problem of Windows settings. To fix it, just go to device manager, and head over to USB hub. Under the power management, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB.My family has used the tablet for a week and loving it. For the price this Asus VivoTab is highly recommended.

Love this machine!
I have been using this for about a week and I am typing on it right now. I was looking for energy savings for off grid living and use on our sailboat, but wanted a keyboard and a reasonable cost. I love this machine! Windows RT has some quirks I'm not happy with, but it is probably just a learning curve with a new operating system. Everyone needs to understand that this is a mobile operating platform, not full Windows. You will need to download an app for that (for most items) but it does give you a full desktop as well.I love that I can use Microsoft OneDrive and I can use it from my laptop, my husband's laptop and my ASUS tablet, not to mention any computer that has an internet connection. It takes awhile to get used to saving things to the cloud, but it ease super easy to use.One of my pet peeves with this is the lack of Google Chrome, but there is an app for Google+ that let's me use hangouts to chat or call my daughter on her IPad, we can then call up my husband at work. I watch Netflix and Amazon Prime, use my Pandora for music and only need to charge it once, maybe twice a day. With my laptop I would have to recharge every 4 hours.Bottom line, for my needs this was perfect.

Would buy again
Purchase about a month ago. Only issue is fails to wake up in sleep mode, have to restart unit, but starts up quickly, under 30 seconds. I use it to play games, read books, listen to music and surf the web. I have used Microsoft Word and Excel with it, but only on a limited basis. After all this is a 10" screen, these apps requires a much larger screen. Additionally, my five year old daughter loves it and is able to play her games easily.Another small issue is sometimes the sound is garble. Restarting the device clears this, not sure if this is an ASUS issue or a windows issue. I have a ASUS Windows 8.1 touchscreen at work at it does the same thing.
