This may have been a mistake for the canary cage
I got this in, got a hook and hung it in the canary cage. The nest doesn't come with anything to hang it with or to attach anything to it to hang it, but I was able to work an S hook through to hang it so it would be securely attached to the cage. Then I walked by the cage. One of the canaries was sitting on top of it and pecking at the straw. I have a suspicion that this will be detached within a day or two. But, they like it and went to it immediately. So I know they like the nest.

My 2 Pairs of Zebra Finches Love These Nests!
I bought this set of 2 nests for my zebra finches. I have 2 pairs of finches. Both pairs of finches have laid eggs in each of the nests. The nests came with 2 thin wires, which I wove into the top back of each nest for hanging. I put the wires through the cage bars, and twisted the ends together. This securely holds the nests in the upper corner of each cage.My pairs took to the nests immediately.I placed them on side and high in the corners of the flight cages, which is how finches make natural nests in Australia.I offered coconut fiber, bought from here on Amazon, which I loosened up for them beforehand, sphagnum moss, human hair clippings from my husband (he looked like Mark Twain, with the virus keeping us home!), and even some soft lint from the dryer. Also, I read a couple of tragic stories about finches getting their feet caught in the coconut fiber. I made sure no fibers were longer than about 1 1/2", and I carefully separated them from the wads that come in the packaging. I also only offered a small amount of each item,, so they wouldn't overbuild their nests. There was no problem and everyone is safe and healthy. Will update when the chicks hatch. The males used it all to make their comfy nests.

Got these for my Budgies
Update:Just a precautionary warning, when the budgies start tearing into them over time, the strings can become loose enough to entangle them. I luckily managed to catch one of my parakeets getting entwined by the string and was struggling with it. Had I not been there when that happened, he would've strangled himself as it was wrapped around his neck and he was making it worse by struggling to try to get free. Once the other nest was getting strings loose I removed it, as well. So took one star off for potential hazard. Otherwise, they loved it while they had it.-----------------------------------------If they use it , fine, if they tear it up, fine :P Either way it'll do it's purpose. Right now they like to rip it up some, but seem to like to make it more "homely", at least the female does. So yea, either way, it's great. Came with thin wires to tie it in place, but we'll see if it holds well enough.

Perfect for zebra finches!
I bought this for my zebra finches- I only added one nest since I noticed that they enjoy spending time together. They used the nest the same day I put it in their cage! They seem really comfy and happy in there. As mentioned in other reviews, the nests come with small wires to attach to the cage. The wires were just what we needed to hang this. It seems sturdy enough for our little finches. The inside of the nest seemed safe as well- I did cut a few pieces that I felt were a little long but it was just to keep me at ease. Overall, it’s safe and finch friendly!

Zebra Finch LOVE
Two nests came with some pieces of wire for attaching to the cage. My finches got in here and wouldn't get out, they loved it. They have never acted like this with any other nest I have tried. They have abandoned other nests, and were just starting to grudgingly use a coconut shell one. As soon as I put this in, they went right to it. No fear! I think it's the wide opening and the shape of the nest, it looks similar to what they have tried to build with coconut fibers in their last nest. These are not going to be something I can clean, so I will just have to toss this one and put in a new one every few months, but it is all natural and I am ok with that, no harm to the environment. And my birds will be cozy in fresh nests. Excellent product, very happy!

Only came with 2 wires
Not sure if my package was short wires but I could only install 1 of the nest securely. The other was just place on the bottom of the bird cage. I have two lovebirds and only 1 bird actually sleeps inside while the other right outside. Perhaps they sense it unstable? Overall great nest, could use more options to hold them in the cage.

thatch bird nest
Purchased for my Mom's green cheeks conure (tiny parrot)... I secured it in a sideways position as an alternative night night for her - so far she hasn't approached it. But the nest itself is just as advertised. It is woven out of some natural material - not super sturdy - but you get two, so I consider it replaceable.
