Mother Earth Products Freeze Dried Bananas, Quart Jar,4 Oz

Oh my goodness, I absolutely love these freeze dried bananas! I have recently undergone a few lifestyle changes, including stocking my house with lots of healthy snacks. I still have a sweet tooth, and I find that these bananas are perfect for satisfying it. I wish that the box was a little bit bigger because I love them so much, but 2-3 banana chips are all it takes to help my sugar cravings. I am a big fan of freeze dried fruits in general, but I think these bananas are my favorite of all.

The size in the picture on Amazon is very deceptive. I expected a jar at least twice the size it actually is and for the price I think you should get more product.

Unfortunately I never got to try the product because I put the entire jar into my blender to pulverize into powder to add 2 my ice cream base. Imagine my surprise when I open the lid and I found a desiccant pocket shredded beyond belief. Sure would have been nice if there was some type of caution sticker or something on the label to foreign customers to be on the lookout for it. Fortunately Amazon is replacing the product free of charge so kudos to Amazon but Boos to the manufacturer for not putting a label warning customers of the desiccant packet

I’ve bought several of these if you could look at my purchase history. Usually they are delicious! However, the last 4 I bought were horrible! The first jar was fine but the other three are about as flavorful as chalk! It’s like the bananas weren’t even ripe before the freeze dry process! Please make sure your product is ripe before hand! Sadly I will be trying to figure out how to return the three jars of chalk I purchased, disguised as freeze dried bananas!

I mean, I might never buy fresh bananas again! Every time I buy bananas I always over estimate how many my family can or want to eat, or I never quite get to them before they turn brown. Problem solved with these! They rehydrate incredibly well, but the thing is, they seem to be sweeter than fresh bananas. The banana flavor seems more concentrated. Now, caution, you can't eat these without rehydrating them, they will totally stick to your teeth, BUT if you have a recipe that calls for bananas or you just happen to like bananas on your oatmeal or cereal, or you want banana pudding, but are short on bananas, then you are in luck with these! Obviously I got them for long term food, but I've been practicing using some of this stuff before I NEED to. I'm loving every single thing this company makes. My family adored the freeze dried raspberries. I used them to make scones. Honestly, you might be tempted to buy a freeze drying machine after you start using freeze dried produce. It's incredibly convenient and it doesn't spoil or take up fridge space! Win- win for me.

I do home day care. These are the only dried banana's that the kids will eat - and that I approve of. NO SUGAR - I'm sure that's a bit off-putting to a lot of adults, but let's be honest, bananas don't need sugar. We've tried several different types of banana chips and these are the only ones that pass the "threenager" test. I wouldn't give a whole one to a baby, but broken up into small pieces the little'uns can handle them. I use dried fruit/cheerios to make "toddler trail mix" that can be an on the go snack for our afternoon walks. These fit the bill.

This is one of my favorite purchases in Amazon Pantry. These banana chips are tasty, not too sweet, crunchy but not hard like dried bananas. There is a bit of "banana powder" at the bottom of the jar, but I found a good way to use this "dust" by adding a little bit of it to my morning cereal. It is real freeze dried, not just dehydrated. they are crunchy and soft. the flavor is banana, obviously. i didn't like them as much as i thought i would, but that's no fault of the makers. that's just how they taste when they're freeze dried. they are the best tasting of all the ones i tried. the second place winner is apple, and the very distant third place is strawberry. these are worth a try if you're curious.
