These were pretty cool when I used my hot tub, nice and bright, even bought a second pack. They are susceptible to leaking though, I've had a few that got all rusted out inside.

I purchased the 4-pack of lights to use as Pumpkin lights. I was specifically looking for waterproof lights since it often rains around Halloween and my previous lights have gotten wet and stopped working. I haven't used them for long, but they do seem waterproof. They may be completely submersible, but they do not sink. If you want them underwater you will need to attach weights. There is a small slot for a wire or string to be threaded through on the underside, which could also be used to hang them. A quick test hanging from some thread shows that they are balanced and point fairly straight down with only a slight tilt to one side.The light colors and modes are not very good. The red, green, blue and white colors are nice and deep, but the other colors are pretty washed out. All of the orange and yellow shades (which I hoped to use to simulate a candle), has a noticeable green tint to it. The blue to purple colors are more pastel. The green to blue colors are not bad, but definitely not bold.The modes don't do what I think they should do. The card that comes with them doesn't have much detail, but here is what I determined:- "Flash" cycles through R-G-Y-B-V-Light Blue-White with harsh cut transitions (one moment it is red, the next it is green, etc.). The brightness stays the same during the cycle.- "Strobe" only works with 7 of the colors (red, green, blue, white, yellow, teal, pink) and start with the color at full brightness which decreases slowly to off, then back up to full brightness. I was expecting a strobe light effect and for it to work with any color.- "Fade" is actually pretty good. The color fades through all 16 colors in roughly rainbow order. The brightness stays the same during the cycle.- "Smooth" is not at all smooth. It has hard transitions between red, green and blue only. The brightness stays the same during the cycle.It came with 4 remotes with batteries. Any one of the remotes can control any of the lights, so you probably only really need one remote typically. The remote is very strong and works from quite a ways away and through water.I'll likely keep them, but they aren't really what I was hoping for.

The remote is a little janky, but works!!If the lights are all close together at least 8 out of ten will come on/off in one shot.. sometimes you can get all 10 to come one in one shot with the remote but most of the time I need to press the on/off button one more time.This also goes for color/function changingAs for the range its pretty decent, but you must be pointing directly at it or relatively in that direction.But for 20 bucks for 10 waterproof lights that work via remote with multiple fuctions and colors is pretty great price !! Especially for 2 remotes and for all the lights n remotes to come with batteries!The light brightness is pretty awesome! N is also dimable! I put them in my salt rock lamps so I do not need to worry about a light bulb going out or where to plug it in !! N they are doing great!!Fare warning make sure when you put the lights together that you tighten them super good or it will not work lol I thought I had them tight enough but they where still not coming on but others did I kept switching around the batteries n noticed that even tho I think its tight enough if I did one more twist it would pop right on !!Im giving it 4 stars as im not sure of the battery life yet but im super happy that they all came with working batteries!! N because the remote could use a little fine tuning!

Even leaving the lights off, the batteries die quickly and the light won't stay on.

I really was pleased with the exception that one of the lights did not work. It was very obvious as to why it did not work and has never worked. I purchased these used, but was said to be in good condition. The previous owner had to know that one of them did not work, unless they never put batteries in it. The middle battery would not stay in place due to no spring on either end. The slot that held the third battery had 2 springs in it. one on each end. one of those should have been in the middle. If the previous owner would have put batteries in all 4 lights so that they could assure the customer that they all work. They would have run accross the one light that did not work. It appears to have come from the factory this way. I am going to keep these lights regardless of one not working. Too good of a deal to send the other three back.

These do the trick and work well for our Halloween decorations, but the battery life is short. I'm hoping it was only the batteries they came with and the fresh batteries will last longer, but I don't have much faith. Two of them flat out would not turn on when they arrived. I gave them new batteries and messed around with them, but they were just broken. Then after a week or so of use, the rest started malfunctioning. Some would not respond to the remote, the rest just flashed red and would not change color or even turn off. We replaced the batteries in those and then they worked again. So, apparently when they are stuck on flashing red that means you need to replace the battery. Hope this helps anyone searching for info. I purchased $80 worth of these and man, was that a mild mistake. You just need to keep an eye on them, buy plenty of replacement batteries, and prepare yourself to replace them often. I DID NOT ATTEMPT TO SUBMERGE THEM, so I do not know how they react in water.
