Pawsitively Adorable. A masterpiece.
Miss Georgia is an extremely talented artist and writer. The drawings are painted exquisitely in water color and every time I go back to re-read a strip, I will always find some new and tiny detail I have missed. The cats are hilarious and heart warming, and they feel so life like. My family and I have become so invested in this strip and just adore all of the characters. Cat personalities are spot on for anyone who has ever been around cats for any length of time. These strips will make you laugh, cry, giggle, tear up, and outright guffaw. You won't be disappointed in this book.Edit: You can now find these guys daily in newspapers now!I have given this book as gifts to several family members and all have loved. I love how this comic is family friendly for ALL ages. You don't see that too often anymore.I really hope the publisher makes a second (and third and fourth, etc!) book of our favorite feline reporters! My cats give it 4 paws up each!

This just in - Homebound Cat Journalists Are Now In Book Form!
Georgia Dunn's comic strip about cats (both her own, and neighbor kitties) reporting the daily events that happen around them as only on the spot crackerjack reporters can is warm and sweet. Whether noting the weather changes, the existence of neighbor cats, or simple events within the house, these cats are eager to let the world know about great things happening from their points of view. Cats Elvis, Puck, and Lupin are as excited about discovering hidden passages within the house as they are scared of the vacuum cleaner. A box full of packing peanuts tantalizes them almost as much their people choosing to sleep in on a Saturday morning annoys them. Sunbeams are as worthy of a report as their battles with their people to be up on the tables and counters.I discovered the strip last year, and have been entranced by the artwork and writing as much as the characters. Simple and sweet, these cats view the world from an angle I sometimes forget exists. My own feline family members would fit into this world quite easily, and it is a common event now for me to imagine any of our cats attempting to get the story of the day now as I go about my day.Based upon her own pets responding to the world around them, Georgia Dunn has spun a magical world where not only to the cats have mysterious access to cameras and microphones that no one else can see, but they are still open and innocent to the world around them. Elvis is the stubborn field reporter quick with an editorial commentary, Puck is the sensitive field investigator eager to explore, and Lupin is the desk anchor who can charm most anyone. The artwork is vivid, and you can watch the author's style progress from the earliest stories into the more relaxed and detail oriented visuals of later event coverages. As the stories tend to reflect things that happen within her family's lives, she brings an honesty and innocence to the page that any parent of pets can recognize within their own furry children. The cats respond to seemingly mundane moments with an energy and honesty that is both refreshing and sweet. While the cats may bicker within their social group, the family is always strong and loving, and the life moments seen with the wonder of a cat.If there is a down side to the book, it is that it is rather short, and some of the larger episodes are forced to break down into three pages within the book. But if the reader can fall into the rhythm of the story, it is well worth the effort to not expect a set up to punchline story within eight panels. No political commentaries or schticks to settle the reader into a pattern, the strip is equally likely to address the joys cats feel at the arrival of a pizza as the concerns of seemingly wild cats wandering into another cat's semi-established territory. If you are a pet owner, and constantly wonder what is going on in the minds of your pets, this is for you. If you recognize the same awe at watching birds and butterflies in your household, this is for you. If you have ever had a cat try to climb your leg as you make breakfast, this is for you.

Consistently feline and fun
Cats in suits, cats with microphones, cats at the news desk and cats chasing strange red spots. Cats that can’t report the news because they’re asleep in the curious patch of light. And cats that want bacon. The cats in these fun cartoons may not look entirely catlike but their surely and totally feline in nature and behavior. Meanwhile their humans, like cat lovers everywhere, spoon comfortably, share the bed reluctantly, wake up when they’re told, and perform all those much desired human actions that keep felines happy. Then… well, you’d have to read the book to find out what happens, but it’s nicely told from a consistently feline point of view and it’s great fun. Enjoy!Disclosure: My son bought it for my mum, and Mum correctly predicted that I’d enjoy it too.

Experts Agree: BCN is #1 in Cat News!
If you love cats, or comics, or both, you need this book. Georgia Dunn has created a wonderful world, inhabited by authentic cats and, incidentally, the kind people who serve them. Not only the cats, but all the details of the news program are pitch perfect and extremely funny. I will read this over and over until it falls apart.

Funny, smart, and more
Well-drawn characters, very funny, and sometimes makes you think! At its best, it's about friendship and family, and the mystical beauty of the sound of a can opener. The author has a nice sense of humour, but what really sets her apart is that she has given the cats their own coherent worldview, which they maintain consistently -- she never just goes for a cheap gag at the expense of the overall framework. And it's done with great warmth. The strip is strongest when the cats are in the real world. As the strip goes on, the author includes some fanciful stories involving ghosts, soap operas, etc. They are fine, but it doesn't show off the her talents at exposing the oddness of everyday experience.

Kibble for the Soul
Breaking Cat News is by far the most captivating, hilarious, and better than chicken soup for the soul (kibble for the soul? lol) book I have had the pleasure to read. As I live in the UK, it took months and months before the gem of a book finally made it's way to my house, but it was WELL worth the wait. I love Georgia's brilliant sense of store-telling, beautiful well drawn and vibrantly coloured illustrations, as well as the countless details that connect each comic to the next and make reading this comic book the joy that it is. I treasure my copy and will re-read the strips countless times over. When I feel down, all I have to do is pick up this book and a smile is sure to spread across my face. I can't wait to buy her next book!
