My husband’s actually using it & likes it!
I’ve been searching for shaving lotions for my husband for some time that would be much healthier alternatives than, for example, Gillette’s offerings. After trying a number of products, this is the first my husband really likes. He’s said it’s thick enough to protect his skin well while shaving, and yet rinses off easily with water afterwards. He also really appreciates that it’s unscented.

Wonderful product
Shave my head several times a week. This is not a foam. Not meant to be sudsy. Use a very small amount. Trial and error. Again, a small amount and you’ll really like the product. A large amount and you’ll really dislike the same product. Again, trial and error but once you hit the sweet spot you’ll appreciate the product. Cheers

Not bad but not my favorite
I tried this shave cream as an alternative to the EOS sensitive skin shave cream, which has been my go-to for a long time. This was not bad, but I did find myself experiencing a bit more irritation and razor burn while using this product than I do with the EOS shave cream. I do really like the smell of this one and the consistency feels nice on my skin while shaving, but I still prefer the EOS overall for its effectiveness at preventing irritation. I also find that the EOS shave cream tends to go a longer way and a tube lasts me a really long time as compared to this one.

Different kind of shaving lotion
I gave this 5 stars because it is exactly how it is described. Very emollient shaving cream. Completely unscented. So do not expect a sudsy, white lotion. It took me a while to get used to it because it is so different. Previously have used His My Face shaving lotion for years. Hard to get lately and ridiculously expensive now. This Alba cream is completely invisible. So the razor does not leave tracks. Just takes getting used to. I think it is more moisturizing than the KMF lotion. Use a small amount and rinse your razor like usual so it doesn't get bunged up. If I had the choice I would get the KMF again. However, this works well and is way cheaper and not full of garbage ingredients.

Good shave cream for the money. Good alternative to Art of Shaving if you don't mind the minor flaws.
I just recently picked three new shave creams/gels to compare against The Art of Shaving. Art of Shaving being the undisputed champion. Gillette Foamy Regular being the baseline of just acceptable. Here is the breakdown:First thing is the tool. I have tried the 4 blade Schick and the Mach3 and Fusion. I always return to my trusty Gillette Sensor3 Conditioning[green] disposable. Post shave I use Art of Shaving aftershave [Lemon or Sandalwood]. It runs about $30 a bottle which may seem high but I have been using the same two bottles for over two years. Two pumps is all you need.1) The Art of Shaving is by far the best. It also costs the most. For the money spent it doesn't disappoint. It goes on easy with a light coat. It shaves very well and leaves your face feeling soft and nourished from all the conditioners/essential oils it contains. Normally I would scoff at paying $25 for a six month tub of shaving cream [I shave about 3x a week]. But this stuff is really that damn good. It exceeds expectations and then some.2) Alba Very Emollient Shave Cream Coconut Lime - This is the next best thing to Art of Shaving. Excellent shave. Very good skin conditioners. The scent is really nice. Finish it off with Art of Shaving Lemon aftershave. And at a price that is 1/4 of Art of Shaving. This one is definitely worth a look. BIG WARNING: The only negatives about this product is that: A) it clogs up the razor more than most B) is also slightly sticky which some may find annoying and C) is difficult to clear clogs as a result.2.5) Nivea For Men delivers a nice shave. Feels smooth afterwards. It lathers a good amount which is good if you like that. I am now a low foam or no foam fan. It doesn't leave your face as conditioned as the top two performers but does a decent job.4) Kiss My Face Moisture Shave Bamboo Green Tea - This shave cream is not that much better than Gillette Foamy. Certainly not enough to justify the difference in cost. If you are looking for a fantastic shave you need to look elsewhere.Bottom line - If you want Ferrarri performance you have to pay top dollar. Here is my car/shave cream analogy:Ferrarri - Art of ShavingBMW/Audi - Very EmollientHonda - NiveaChevrolet - Kiss My FacePontiac - Gillette Foamy

This shaving cream contains an emollient that leaves one’s skin soft and non irritated after every shave. Definitely worth trying for anyone with sensitive skin..

It's just an ok shave cream
This shave cream is ok.. It takes a lot of it to shave much of an area. It also is moisturizing, but not really slick enough for me when I'm shaving.

excellent product
Truly unscented. No noticeable odor. Gives good lubrication for shaving and leaves skin feeling nice. But a little hard to rinse off sometimes.

Awesome if you have facial hair lines to groom
As it's transparent. Works great on my sensitive skin. Nice and slimy to shave over and rinses off quick. Never irritated after. One bottle lasts a long time, I won't finish 2x per year. I've used foam, gel, and the brushed kind and this is by far the best I've ever used. Will never switch.

A superb shaving product
A very, very good shaving cream that provides a smooth, comfortable shave. The cream is slightly oily without being greasy, easy to rinse off, and allows the razor to glide over the skin very gently. This is one of the best shaving creams I have used. A little goes a long way and the scent is pleasantly neutral with a coconut and lime tang that is refreshing. I think this would be suitable for those with sensitive skin and any thickness of beard growth. I would also fully recommend this product for women too as the scent is gender neutral and it works as well on the body as the face. Recommended. I hope this was helpful.

Good for your mug too!
As part of my searches for shaving creams, I came across this “Alba Botanica” tube on Amazon which stated “mango vanilla”. That just sounded perfectly delicious. The tube was also some 227 g and something like $5. I just had to try it.Read the full review on: Style4Men.caAt this point, I gave little thought as to who this product might be targeted to. There was no clear distinction as to who the audience might be. It is only when I received the tube a few days later and started reading the back of the label where I saw a campaign which alba Botanica supports that I realized that this was a women’s shaving product. The campaign is: Educating girls, changes the world.Having the tube in front of me, it does look a tad feminine, but like that is going to stop me from trying this stuff out! I want mango vanilla too! 🙂This morning’s shave using the alba shave cream was a nice experience. As mentioned above, this is a fairly large tube, so it’s a good value. The product coming out of the tube is somewhere between a gel and a cream. It’s opaque and quite thick. Upon applying it to my mug, the product becomes transparent. In other words, like a shave gel. You will feel covered, but the labeling suggest that you can help the lubrication along by adding water. In other words, apply the gel to a wet face and add water touch ups as you shave to maintain a high level of lubrication. No different than when using a shaving soap or cream. The ingredient list and manufacturing process statement are reassuring for anyone with health concerns. Considering the positive experience using this shaving cream, it is a confirmation that quality grooming care products CAN be made without being a chemical fiesta!Based on this ingredient list, I can also venture the observation that most of the items listed here are the same as what you will find in our “man” shaving gels. The main differences being packaging and fragrances…and those didn’t even put me on the right track.TEST STAGE: State: Out of the shower Razor: Merkur 180 Blade: Rockwell Pre-Shave: None Shaving Cream: alba botanica Toner: Thayers After-Shave: L’Oréal Sensitive skin aftershaveI found that shaving with this product was very comfortable. Since you don’t have a visual reference of what was shaved and that you are regularly adding water and spreading it, you are also checking the quality of your shave as you go along. I found that shaving with this cream was just as good as with any other gel I have tried so far. While shaving the product accumulates along the blade but rinses off very easily under hot water. On the skin, the gel has a bit of staying power so you can comfortably do 2-3 passes. Once the shave is done, a simple wet towel wipe is sufficient to clean yourself up. Obviously, I went that extra step and did the toner cleanup as well before applying the after-shave.Since alba botanica makes this product for shaving legs, there is no “aftershave” companion products. That being the case I had to mix a number of products for this shave: the alba shave cream, the Thayer’s toner to clean everything up and finally the L’Oréal after-shave cream. I find that mixing different brands can be an invitation to reactions or irritations. I am glad to report that it was all good and that I had no redness or reaction. All ‘n all, an awesome smelling shaving gel at a very competitive price and offering a very decent shave.Read the full review on: Style4Men.ca
