Another brilliant journey
Great storyline, great characters and plenty of action! Brad and co manage to fortify themselves as well as helping non military survivors. But some need to move on. So new journeys begin to find others and to see if the infection is increasing elsewhere. Loved this first book and will certainly follow their journeys.

Nice to read a well written z book!
I don't usually read short stories or many free books. As an author of zombie horror I am mostly disappointed by the quality out there. I also don't read bios before reading the book. From the beginning it was well-written and engaging. I do like it when the author writes about their specialist subject. In this instance it was obvious that the author is/was a serving US soldier. It was believeable in spite of the subject matter :-)I will be checking out more of his work, go for it Mr L.David K Roberts

You become part of the action
The zombies aren't slow and they aren't stumbling. They are fast and strong, a real threat to anyone in the open.A more realistic and thought out take on the typical zombie, with good characters. You don't get much of a back story to any one or anything, but you are sat right in the action as it happens.

A good Zombie read
This is the first in the WTF series and is a good read. We have an assortment of Army, Marines, Afghanistan army and civilians all trying to escape a virus which causes the human population to attack and kill everything around them. The series is set in the Middle East and has strong characters and good story lines.

Excellent
An excellent start to what I predict will be an fast paced action packed series. All the ground work has now been layed and I am really looking forward to reading the next book.My only criticism would be that this ended to soon!

WTF indeed.
Fast paced and gives a real insight into the thought processes of a soldier still out on active duty when the shtf. A great start to the series and it has definitely left me wanting to read more.

Good read and a promising start to a series.
A good start to a series, it makes such a refreshing change to have characters that are not stupid emotional cripples in the face of a crisis. Its a pity that the was so short though it does make you want more.
