Is there any way to get the brightline bag without the large lagoon the front? i'd like to place my own or something more discrete like my tumi.

Note-since all of BrightLine Bags are modular you can build one in any configuration that meets your requirements. The preconfigured bags are our most popular.

Is there a shoulder strap??

Yes, not a very good one in my opinion, the bag is awesome, but if you have your own strap, use it.

Will a 17in super thin laptop fit?

No, a 17 inch super thin laptop will not fit in a BrightLine Bags B4 Swift. The largest laptop that will fit in a BrightLine Bags B4 Swift is a 13". BrightLine Bags makes a Center Section 2-Tall that is specifically designed to fit a 15" laptop or tablet.
