Happy Together: an egg donation story (Happy Together - 13 Books on Donor Conception, IVF and Surrogacy)

My 3 year old loves the story about the baby bear. She knows that she came from mommy's tummy like baby bear and that mommy and daddy got married and were so happy to have a baby just like mommy and daddy bear. I think it will be a big help that I'll be able to talk about how mommy and daddy needed help to have her and that a special lady gave them an egg just like mommy and daddy bear. It's also the only book about egg donation I have that rhymes, so extra credit for that. :-)

Of all the egg donor Children’s Books I have read, this is the simplest, straight forward one I have found. I have read several others and the stories can be odd, complicated and confusing. I recommend this book to for a simple and clear message for children.

Author Julie Marie has written a wonderful, happily ever after children's picture book that explains how a lovely family was formed with the help of egg donor assistance but in terms that a child can understand and re-tell to friends. The rhyming and rhythm are enjoyable to read, and the illustrations are so sweet and touching. Just lovely. Highly recommend.

Very good for the 4-8 year old level. Good illustrations too. Easy to understand. Seemed like it was our story. 5 yr old liked it and understood it.

My two year old loves this book about “her.” Her big sister enjoys reading the special way “little sister” came to be.

Simple, sweet and spot on! Out of all the books I have purchased about about donor eggs this is the best and my favorite. The story is simple enough, even for young kids, yet explains the process of donor eggs well. Warning: I could not read it to my baby without sobbing the first few times I tried. It really is a sweet and touching book!

My daughter and I love this book, she often picks it up for me to read to her and she also re-tells us (and other people) the special story of how she was made. I believe in being open and honest about her donor conception and this book makes it easy to tell her story to her. We love the illustrations too. A beautiful book, highly recommended.
