Useful to extend or repair a low-voltage power cable.
Bog standard solder-terminal parts. Not sure why heat-shrink sleeving is included; there is no room for it inside the connector with the screened cable I was repairing. Might be useful if you were using discrete cables. But thanks anyway; the sleeving has been filed away until it comes in handy. These things are _power_ connectors; why are the solder terminals always so tiny and dainty? Not a good match to the gauge of cable needed for power connections.

Could be better
The outer plastic of these is soft and does not grip the threads on the metal part with any great conviction! I bought both male and female versions but they don't fully lock together. The fit is good but there are a few mm of space exposing part of the male plug.

Handy Connectors
Always handy for extending cables, testing circuits, etc.5.5x2.1mm is a standard size, but check your requirement first.

Not the best
As soon as the soldering iron went near the centre pin the plastic holding it in place melted. I have soldered 100’s of these over the years and never had this happen, these are not a great product. Won’t buy anymore.

A must for any DIYer with good soldering skills.
Anyone with a little electrical/electronic skills will know that these will work with both DC and AC low voltage applications.

Cheap as chips
The plastic is so soft that you can crush it between fingers when the metal insert is not present. The connector tolerances are so wide that if you buy this and ones that should be compatible it will only insert half way.
