Outstanding Quality
I'm very impressed with the quality of this kit.Shipping was instant too.I used it to replace stripped threads in an aluminum steering wheel adapter. Not only did it work flawlessly, the permanent repair is substantially stronger than it was when new.I'd also highly recommend using it on brand new threads in soft metals such as brass or aluminum to avoid potential issues in the future. After seeing & using this kit, I plan on buying a variety of other common sizes so I have them on hand.Buy this, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent little kit
Keeping all the components to a thread repair kit together is almost impossible, these little kits are invaluable for something you might only need once every couple years

Stripped every 1/4-28 bolt I have, even grade 8 bolts
I followed the instructions perfectly, then when I installed the oil cooler and attempted to tighten to 106 in/lbs the bolts would not tighten to spec, it stripped the threads off the bolts, 106in/lbs is not very tight, DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU’RE WORKING ON SOMETHING AS IMPORTANT AS A CAR ENGINE!!!!

Fit and finish excellent
Do not know yet about steel, they worked very well in pot metal and cast aluminum use a good lubricant in those materials too avoid problms

Worked perfectly
I used this to repair corroded threads in a steel tube with walls that are not very thick. I followed the directions carefully -- there are a number of steps -- and it worked perfectly. It was actually kind of fun to install. If the coil is longer than the thickness of the material it is to be installed in, it is best to trim it a little before installation -- at the end that will be visible after installation, not the end deep in the hole. The near end needs to be flush with the surface, and if the far end is too long it could interfere with the last step, breaking off the tang.
