Tula Pink Hardware 4" Duckbill Applique scissors, Rainbow

I love these mini duckbill scissors! They are sharp. Great for miniature rug making, and sewing needs. I LOVE THE gorgeous patina COLOR. Oh my, I showed them to another artist friend who had never seen duck bills and they were enthralled. I am impressed with the sharpness, and of course the mini duckbill means I can cut consistent pile on my rugs, and protect areas I do not want cut. The only thing is I have big hands and the scissors are a bit uncomfortable after a while due to the finger holes. Still, I couldn’t make tiny pile rugs without these scissors, and so I will deal with discomfort.

These are quality scissors for smaller appliques. These scissors made it so much easier and safer to cut away the backing from all my hard work on an appliqued quilt I was making. I just wish I would have gotten them a long time ago.

I like using good scissors. Not that I doubted tools by Tula Pink, but with the anodized colors I was not expecting too much. I use my large sized duckbill scissors a lot and thought a pair of mini duckbills might be a good addition to my scissor fleet. These wee scissors are a delight to use. Yes, the colors are nice, but performance is king and happily these fit the “function” category extremely well. So these are lovely to look at, are lightweight, work really well and are decently priced as well! What’s not to love! I am so pleased that I bought these!

These duckbill scissors are great for embroidery. The small size fits into tight spaces well. They are very sharp and make a clean cut. These are my go to scissors for all embroidery projects. Edit: I do embroider daily. I purchased these scissors on 11/2022 and I am replacing them today. They did not hold their sharp edge. I have 2 pair of these scissors and both are too dull to use. My appliqués look like they have been sawed on. Very dissatisfied with them. And no, they have never cut anything but fabric. I will try a different brand today.

This is just the right size I was looking for. I love the hologram colors on it and it’s just the right size for getting into those little tight places. I love Tula pink anyway and I knew this product would be good. I would definitely recommend it.

I actually do not know what a realistic expectation for sharpness is after three years. I do use them quite a bit and they were sharp in the beginning. They are unusable right now and if they cannot be sharpened will toss them. I have the four inch Quilters Select Wave Applique Scissors now and they are incredible!! If you're looking for an excellent pair of applique scissors, I would suggest checking them out before purchasing the Tula Pink scissors. Quilters Select does cost more so maybe it's just a case of getting what you pay for. :)

What makes this little pair of scissors so sweet? Light weight. Great design Easy to use (and pretty little thing) These scissors were a life saver for this machine embroidery applique project. All those little areas to trim after the attach stitch. Whew! Because they are so small but comfortable, I could get into the hoop easily. Beside these I show my full sized pair of duck bill scissors so you can get an idea of the difference. The angle helps to get there easily, too. Tula, you rock, girl.

These are the sharpest scissors I have ever had. I was totally not expecting that. They are sturdy, they aren’t cheap or flimsy and make it easy to cut out appliqué. I even tried them out on yarn just to see and barely tugging the blade onto the yarn and it cut it. The coloring of the metal I’ll definitely be buying these scissors again in the bigger sizes and different types/models.

These are great little scissors. Not only are they small (truly 4”), sharp and perfectly shaped, but they are wonderfully LIGHT and well BALANCED!! To appreciate the difference “wonderfully light and well balanced” makes in the case of small appliqué scissors -and what this may mean especially for someone with arthritis- one has to try a different pair after trying them. You will come running back to these ones. I gave another 4” duckbill pair of scissors a try early on, a made in US 4” pair that had soft grip handles thinking it might even be better. But that pair turned out to be much heavier and not well balanced: I had to fight with it constantly because it was tilting forward all the time, and my fingers & hand got sore quickly. That was it for me. I have been using the Tula Pink 4” Duckbill scissors DAILY for several MONTHS now (I do a lot of embroidery with appliqués), and they are just as sharp, comfy and well balanced as when I first got them. I LOVE these little scissors and would buy them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!.

Diese Applikationsschere sieht nicht nur gut aus, sondern schneidet auch perfekt! Ich hatte mit einer anderen Schere (von Prym) solche Schwierigkeiten, dass ich mich lange nicht mehr an Applikationsscheren getraut habe. Dank einer Empfehlung habe ich mich dann doch zum Kauf entschieden und bin mega happy. Zum Applizieren beim Maschinen-Sticken bestens geeignet, da ein präziser Schnitt nah an der Naht möglich ist. Ein Stern Abzug für den doch sehr hohen Preis.

Absolutely brilliant, they are perfect size for doing small appliqué. So pleased I bought them. 😁

Tiny, sharp embroidery scissors very useful for tighter areas that are hard to trim with larger scissors. Nice finish too.
