Is this item inflatable and deflatable, so can it be made less big?

No it is rigid. I find it too big and bulky. I am removing the suckers as will damage my resurfaced antique bath. It is a safety device not an elegant solution. Not sure where to store it either. But if your bath is too long this will prevent you sliding down.

Not suitable for me, too big for the bath ...

Wasn't very impressed with it .Keeps coming away from the bath and suction pads keep coming off and very hard to put back on .
