This is a great quality oil for vintage cars that do not have oil filters - early V8 Fords, Model "A" Fords for example.An oil with detergent properties keeps the contaminants in suspension until they get to the oil filter and get trapped. Theoretically, non-detergent oils allow the particles to settle out in the bottom of the oil pan where it is drained out in the next oil change which is usually every 500 to 1000 miles. (Who said they don't make cars like they used to?).I was happy to find that Amazon carried this name brand oil because it is not readily available at the auto parts stores in my area.If you are using this oil in an vintage car, you might also want to use the oil additive ZDDP which contains Zinc and Phosphorous which reduces wear. 4 oz. for every 4-5 quart oil change is normally recommend. This is also available from Amazon.
