The Sandman Vol. 3: Dream Country 30th Anniversary Edition

Fantastic storyline, great graphics and captivating characters. Deserves ten stars, came to the comic after watching show on Netflix first, but will definitely now read all of the books!

I really enjoyed Dream Country. I’ve become a massive fan of The Sandman and can see what all the fuss is about. This is a bit shorter than the previous volumes which disappointed me because I got lost in the book and didn’t want it to end so was disappointed when I turned the page to find the original script for Calliope. I wanted more. I thought Calliope was the best episode in this volume, by far, very dark at times, a real delight. I also discovered a much easier way to read the book on my kindle rather than peering at quite small text. Yeah me! I look forward to volume four.

The artwork is outstanding and the bonus script for "Calliope" is a fantastic addition to the volume.

As you'll probably know by reading the description and other reviews, this volume is not connected to the main story, consisting of four short stories involving the sandman. My summary, they're solid stories, showing the wonders of dreams and where they take us, much like the rest of the series. The calliope story is disturbing, almost seeming to be a blast at writers who seek "muses" for their craft, while the story at the end was depressing, but an interesting take on how to view suicidal thoughts and death. Again, all solid, but not adding to the main story. I think this is worth the purchase, but it isn't anywhere near as good as the other volumes up to this point in the series.

Better and better the story gets each time I read it. Pick up new details or things in the art or whatever but definitely one of the most original, important and great pieces of literature ever. One of my favorites as a complete collection and the fact its lasting shows it's a great with the audible productions of these tales and the Netflix series.

Do primeiro ao último capítulo deste volume, várias questões e reflexão são trazidas ao leitor, Sonho e Morte trazem momentos riquíssimos para nosso deleite.

There's not much to review on such a popular comic but I did want to point out that this volume of Sandman has bonus material at the end. Being an old woman and new to the comic genre I really found the included script enjoyable and enlightening. I also would like to say that comics on Kindle are really well done and With the zoom into panels very easy to read. It's unlocked a whole new genre for me. Will be spending 2022 getting to know the world of comics!

Another session in this graphic novel series, it's great as ever. However I did not think much of all the script included in this. I understand from a creative process as a writer but less so in the traditional format of comics. But you are committed to the series so you will continue.
