On my second set after hundreds of miles
They offer great traction on gravel and perform well on established trails. It has been the best performing tire I have had over the last 3 years. Now they do perform and they do wear out but ,all tires with that aggressiveness of tread do. At a price that is affordable .

Great commute tires.
These are my tire pick for my household, I've purchased at least 10 over time.Long ago when I originally posted this review it started: Yesterday I needed to switch out my shredded kenda front tire on my 29er mountain bike as commuter bike with cyclocross wheels. I've been riding with a CST Cultivator on my back wheel for ... 707 miles and the raised tread in the middle hasn't quite worn down to the tire surface. Switched it up to the front, wouldn't be surprised for another 700 miles there. Fresh Cultivator on the rear wheel, will report how that fares.Update#1: 1470 miles later, the back-moved-to-front tire is still doing well, and has worn even in the center. The new rear now has 1470 miles on it, too, the tread started wearing even in the middle in the 1100-1200 mile range.Update#2: Rear now at 2,290 miles, still holding. The hole where I hit a roofing screw will probably keep me from going much beyond 2500 on the rear. Front is now on 707+2,290 and the tread still isn't worn down to the tire.Update#3: Caught a flat through the side from a tiny sliver of wire and while I had it off I decided 2,343.4 miles was enough.Just put a fresh one on the back, let's see how it does.Update#4: Well, at 1,538 mi on that fresh rear tire I'm not sure if it is going to make it to 2000mi as I've seen some slices, etc. It's almost worn smooth in the center. Front is now 707+3,881 miles and still not bald down the middle.Update#5: Rear has made it to 2,247.5 so far. Front is 707+4,591 miles.Update#6 not much later: Well, 2553 on the rear and I decided to retire it just because it's looking pretty thin when I pulled it off to fix a pinch-flat caused by hitting a pothole too hard. So on to a new one for the rear. Front at 707+4897.Update#7: Had a bit of steel wire work its way through the front tire and StopFlat, and the day before I'd been showing off a couple tears where you could see the stop-flat through it, so I changed out the tire along with the tube. Front made it 707.4 as a rear tire then 7,192.3 on the front. New Cultivator on the front. Rear is at 2,295 and will change out next time I catch a flat, on the thin side again.Update#8: Caught that flat at 2905, trying the CST Ciudad RS Kevlar this time.

Great performance for a budget price
Great performance for the price. I run these as my most aggressive tread tire selection for muddy/snowy races and am very pleased. They seem to clear reasonably well after being put in some tough conditions and fared well on a steep sandy climb that many people were getting off to run up. I was initially a bit uncertain based on the price but no complaints what so ever. I have been running them between 30-35 psi and no pinch flats to speak of and the tread still looks great, although it has seen very little blacktop.

Amazing deal for smooth trails and commuting.
I ordered these to replace a 700x28 road tire on my hybrid bike for fall and into winter. These tires offer a lot more of a cushioned ride on pavement and actually roll quite well considering the heavy tread. I rode a bit through a park on grass, gravel, and dirt with great traction. They are very confidence inspiring and corner very well at higher speeds on pavement. I of course did notice the weight increase and they slowed me down a bit, but the traction and ride is completely worth the comprise. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. I will update this review after I have logged more miles and test them in the snow this winter. Initial thoughts on limited testing is 5 stars.*Update* Started occasionally commuting to work on these. They have great traction and have held up well. They definitely shave some speed and I feel the weight, but no worries about terrain or debris. I run them at 80 psi and they are still comfortable and roll pretty well pavement. Great tire if you are looking for more aggressive tread on a hybrid. Can't beat the price either.

I was very happy with the results
Ok. Let's be honest. I didn't come into this purchase with exceptionally high hopes to begin with. A $13 bike tire is always suspect and Chen Shin (the company that makes the tire) usually supplies low cost, low grade tires to the Huffy and Schwinns of the world. I wasn't expecting much, other than having reasonably round, ostensibly made of rubber tires. Once I got them mounted on my cross bike, I was very happy with the results. Mounting the tires required no extra effort and my first trail ride/ cross practice ride included some mud. These tires hooked up in all conditions, including wet grass, soft mud, even wet mud with standing water in it. They also shed the mud very quickly and I never once lacked for traction. The only drawback I can think of is the overall weight, but I really don't care about that. I can buy 5 sets of these tires and still not have paid what I would for a set of Continentals, Michelins, Vittoria or Clements.

CST Cultivator Cycle Cross Tire, Black, 700 x 32
I like this set of tires. I purchased them for the purpose of having the capability to go off the paved roads unto hard-packed and gravel laden pathways. The tires feel sure-footed on hard-packed roads and dirt paths. It absorbs small bumps well and grips the soft surface with good traction. It also works well on paved surfaces which is where I use it most of the time.I ride a hybrid bike and ride on roads most of the time but I also go on hard packed dirt roads 25% of my ride. The seller is also very accommodating as 1 of the tires i purchased had a defect. They sent a replacement right away as soon as I notified them of the problem. Good customer service and good product.
