Who "doesn't" love the meerkats?!?
We first watched these meerkat families on nature television. My mom fell in love with Flower and the rest of the gang. She found herself deeply involved in their lives; whether their pups lived, who was fighting with who, rival gang raids, etc. The creatures are delightful and great entertainment for the whole family. I purchased the entire series for my mom for Christmas and she watches her meerkats over and over again. They are cute and precious and it's easy to fall in love with them. Fantastic show!

Gotta love them Kats
Not everyone is going to like the Meerkat Manor series, but anyone who is even slightly an animal person will get hooked. Who knew these little guys had such distinct personalities? And they truly show us what's involved in being part of a family and the hard work and endurance it takes along the way. Start at the begin, give them a chance, and "The Whiskers" family and their rival clans at Meerkat Manor will (most likely) win you and your family over.

How could I not love the stories about these incredible creatures. My heart breaks when anything happens to one of them. The Lowry Park Zoo that is near to me has a group of these little cuties. I never spend less than 30 minutes watching these lovable little animals. They have an adopt an animal program that helps support the animals at our zoo. I'm hoping soon I will save enough money up to adopt one of these little guys.

Enjoy the Meerkats
Love Meerkat Manor. So sorry this series didn't continue. My granddaughter and myself enjoyed it so much. I have all the DVDs and we can watch it anytime. The struggles of the Meerkats can keep you on the edge of your seat. A great family series that should be viewed over and over again.

A MUST HAVE
I watched all the televised shows so I knew what I was getting. In my opinion all households should add this to their video library especially if they have children of any age. Some very sad places due to death of a Meerkat, kleenex time for sure. Just a wonderful series.

Love them meerkats
I love every episode of meerkat manor but Stockard Channing stinks. The show themselves featuring the meerkats are informing as to the new groups and family members. If you can get by the dol-drum voice of the narration, I found it informative but not as attention getting as the last three seasons. Let us hope season five will be better.

Great Series on Meerkats
I've seen this series many times. The sad part is that they stopped after 4 seasons. These little creatures are so interesting and the way this is presented it gives the view the rare opportunity to follow a group of animals from birth to death.

Year four with the Whiskers
Fourth [and alas, final] series of Meerkat Manor. A nature documentary where the makers filmed the lives of a group of Meerkates in the Kalahari desert. All were given names. This, plus delightfully sardonic narration from Bill Nighy coupled with the individual behaviour of certain of the tribe, gives the whole thing the air of a soap opera. And each Meerkat does come over as quite a character in their own right. This being the fourth series there's a bit of backstory but new viewers should be able to get into it easily enough.Although Meerkats look cute they will often kill pups belonging to rivals, and some do come to grief, so the show isn't perhaps suitable for the young to watch on their own. And they do have the occasional run in with Snakes. On a fair few occaions this season as well. So anyone with a phobia of those reptiles might be averting their gaze at points. Each episode does give a brief reprise of the events of the first half of the episode in the middle - this presumably being the point where a commerical break would be if it was on tv rather than dvd - but you do get used to that. All thirteen twenty five minute long episodes of the season are here, spread over four discs. There are no subtitles. No extras. And the only language is English. This does keep the slightly awkward menu design of previous seasons in that to get to an individual episode you have to bring up the first one on the disc then move the pointer down a few rows and highlight an arrow in order to get to the next one. But it does allow you to play all the episodes on the disc in a row, and give direct scene access also. And the bulky packaging of years two nad three has gone. This one is in a much more compact box akin to the first season.Season three ended with some of the Whiskers forming a new group that the programme makers christen the Aztecs. With them, the Whiskers, and other group the Commandos all fighting for territory, there's more of a soap opera feel than ever before. Particularly because loyalties do change on a fair few occasions, with some surprising movement between groups at times. The narration does come up with one absolutely glorious pun in an early episode. And the final episode is an absolute roller coaster ride of emotion, keeping you on tenterhooks throughout to see if things will work out for the Whiskers as they face a very tricky day. This final part does end with the promise of much more drama ahead. But alas, this is the end of the show. So you will never know what happened next. It is, though, a fine box set, and a great final season of a great show.

Meerkat Manor revisited - 4th series
The Meerkat Manor series has bought to our TV screens the most in-depthstudy of any animal ever undertaken. We have enjoyed every adventure and all the ups and downs in the existance of these family orientated little creatures. In series 3 the legendary leader (Flower) of the featured Meerkat family called the Whiskers died of a snake bite while protecting the rest of her gang. We thought that would bring the curtain down on Meerkat Manor. BUT due to popular demand a 4th series has been released. This is great news for all us Meerkat devotees and what a captivating and entertaining continuation to a wonderful study of nature. Meerkat Manor series 4 is a MUST buy , recommended for all the family, 5 star +++ , you won't be disappointed. Who could resist these sweety-pies of the animal kingdom ?

More Meerkat magic
Back with the Whiskers and their fight for survival in the Kalahari. Rocket Dog has come into her own as a leader and faces extremely harsh times as the Whiskers tribe shrinks almost to extinction. The series also follows more closely the other tribes in the Kalahari and the problems they face.Sometimes intensely brutal, this set of DVDs provides as much entertainment as the previous seasons of Meerkat Manor.

Wonderful
This is a wonderful story of the Meerkats, they are lovely creatures, the way they conduct their lives is great, they have look-outs, baby-sitters just like us humans, but probably better sometimes. Nature is wonderful.
